My query is about mediclaim reimbursement due from an employer I am no more working for.

My employer, a fairly new start-up had included a mediclaim of Rs. 1500 per month. There was no detail provided as to the terms, conditions. What I know for sure is that the mediclaim is not allied with any insurance company. Now, the accountant there has rejected my claim as most of my expenses are dental surgery expenses.

I understand insurance companies do not provide any coverage for dental expenses. However, that is for tax rebate consideration. My question is if the company has not bought any insurance for the employees, in that case, a part of the salary stands unpaid if they do not reimburse. (Unless, they specify in their employment contract that dental claims will not be reimbursed.)

Please clarify if my logic is correct.
