    Angry Cancellation of credit card and ERGO-HDFC

    Respected sir/madam,



    My name is D John Jalal Peter working in chennai.


    Last Month I got a call from HDFC and they told it for verification and they verified my details and at last they told they have offer for me and they have activated credit card(GOLD) for me which I have not requested.I told them that I have not requested for credit card and I dont need.They convienenced me that they have activated and it cannot be deactivated and they told to deactivate it once they received.I have not even gave them any proof and they convieneced me that they have taken the proof which I have submitted for opening salary account and I have not even signed any documents regarding it.Which is the first mistake.They should not activate without my sign or and without proof for credit card.Then they called me to verify whether they have received credit card or not.During which I was told you will get the bill for activation fees and I should pay before some date they mentioned.I dont remember the date.And after which I called the customer care for deactivation of my card.They told that it will be processed and deactivated within 45 days.within that week I got a call from ERGO that they have medical insurance for 2 lakhs.Even though I told I dont need they convienced me by calling again and again while Iam in office.they told I have to pay around rs.390 for activation of ERGO.So thought that it would be activated only if I pay that amount and it would not be activated if I dont pay they wont activate the policy.And I again called the customer care for deactivation of my credit card and ERGO policy.Byt now they are telling that there is a policy in your credit card and so i have to deactivate the policy first and then only the credit card can be cancelled.So its been like trap so we cannot cancel the credit card.And when I requested for cancellation of the policy they are telling I cannot cancel the policy .And after two to three request they are telling to pay 30% of policy amount(i.e for rs.8000).Why should I pay that amount,for which they have activated the the ERGO policy in the credit card which I have requested for cancellation.In the first place they should not activate some policy on credit card which has been requested for cancellation.And I want to cancel both the Policy and ERGO in credit card.I have not received any processing fees till now so I want to cancel before it is processed.And I wont pay any amount because it is there fault.If they ask me to pay they 30% of the policy amount for cancellation.Then the bank should also pay 30%(of 2 lakhs) for the policy they have activated.


    Note:I have not even signed any policy papers or documents,they called in phone and the policy department told dont not ask any doubts and just say yes or no if they call for verfication.And they told i can clarify my doubts after that call and when asked to deactive it they are asking to pay 30% and another activation fees of rs .397 and credit card activation fees(Which i was told it is free.So they are false advertising)So daily I am attending many phone calls and my friends have access to my phone and what so if the call is attended by some others since others also have access when iam not there.So the policy should be activated and its medical(security policy) so they cannot activate with just speaking through phone for 5-10 min and activating it.



    And iam sending a copy of this by courier to concern department.Or which I have complain against the HDFC credit card department for activating it without my request and proof and taking proof which I have submitted for opening Bank account without my knowledge or permission and activating it and ERGO for activating the policy on credit card once I have requested for cancellation of credit card which they have activated without my permission or request and without willingness of me .It looks like trap they have activated the ERGO so I would not be able to cancel the credit card without paying for ERGO which they earn money by trapping innocent people.

    So deactivate both ERGO and credit card.And I wont be responsible for any fees.The department which activated credit card without sign and indivudal proof for credit card are responsible.I dont want you to make any call for convincing me to continue the card or policy.

    Please suggest how to cancel the credit card and ERGO policy.The policy is not processed and i have sent request to them to cancel the both before 1 week itself.But they are not cancelling and trying to convince to continue.Both were activated without any submission of proof and have not signed any papers.They have activated it the proof i provided them for opening salary account only.And they have not following the rules .So I need to cancel both credit and ERGO policy immediately without any processing amount.

    Default HDFC ERGO Insurance Cancellation

    I got a call from ERGO that they have medical insurance for me.Even though I told I dont need they convienced me they told I have to pay in Emi for
    activation of ERGO. but I never requested for any policy and they activated the insurance on my card. I never signed any papers for insurance but they send me the papers. I called Cust Care of Ergo to cancel the insurance from my card. and they give me a ref no of cancelation 004808874. but the insurance is still active on my card.
    Please cancel the insurance on urgent basis. or else I will take some serious action against this.
