I am extremely disappointed by the malpractice and lack of false assurance given by staff of ICICI Lombard Health Insurance Company. I was holding a Family Floater policy with them since the last 4 years and my premium every 2 years was 13000/-. My current policy was expiring on 31st August 2011 hence on 18th August i renewed the policy online making a payment from my credit card account only to realise that the amount of 13000/- has been changed from 2 year premium to 1 year premium. I thought this was very wrong from their end and hence called up the call centre department and spoke with Ms. Kalavati (Cancellation Team) and explained to her my situation. She told me that the policy will only be effective next month and asked me to given them 15days to look into the matter and possibly reduce my premium but i didnt want to take a chance and told her to cancel my policy. She eventually cancelled my policy and gave me a cancenllation number# 9907431 and told me that i will receive a letter confirming the same and also assured that i will not be charged any thing and the entire amount would be refunded. I received the new policy document and the cancellation confirmation letter on the same day at my residence. The new policy issuance letter was dated 18th August 2011 and the cancellation letter was dated 23rd August 2011. There was a error on the new policy document as the commencement date was mentioned 18th August 2011 to 17th August 2012 which was wrong as my current policy is expring on 17th September 2011. I thought since i already have received the cancellation letter and confirmation from the executive i wont have to worry however i was shocked to notice today on my credit card statement that an amount of I am
Rs.9815/- has been refunded and not the entire amount of Rs.13086/-. I immediately called the call centre again and spoke to Ms. Sameena who informed that the case was handled by Ms. Kalavati and I should speak with her only. When I insisted her to give me an explanation she told that the remaining amount has been taken as cancellation charge to which I told her that i was clearly informed that there would not be any cancellation charges since the exisiting policy is still valid for another month. All she said that she cannot help me and I should talk with Ms. Kalavati only. I am really disappointed with the service and this is clearly cheating your customer
