    Thumbs down claim rejected

    Hi,

    My name is Chain raj , we had medical policies under United India insurance company through medsave group. my brother recently expired due to heart attack and we applied for the mediclaim for him.

    The sum insured is Rs.100000 and they informed me to send all the documents. We had faxed all the documents and after one month time when we contacted them they informed us we got sanctioned the amount and the cheque will be courierd to us on March 8, 2010. When we contacted them on March 9, 2010 they informed us that the cliam had been rejected due to disease "INFERIOR WALL MI THROMBOLYSIS AND STREPTOKINASE". My brother died of heart attack and I dont know why the claim had been rejected.

    Can you please help me out of this situation and please advise

    Angry Claim Rejected

    Hi,

    I am Berlin from Chennai. Recently i admitted my mother in hospital due to severe backpain and was not even able to walk or sit. we admitted for 5 days and doctor advised us to be under medication since she had L4 & L5 degenerated disc disease and suggested if its not cured under medication then she has to undergo surgery, While in the hospital we applied for cashless but they denied stating that she was admitted for diagnosis and not for treatement. Since the claim was rejected the insurance (Mediassist India) person advised to apply for post hospitalisation. I applied after that then too it got rejected. We spent around 55000/- to 60000/-. Again they rejected stating the same reason that my mother was admitted for diagnosis and not for treatement but we did took treatement for those 5 days.

    When we discussed with the insurance agents they said it can be claimed since the documents was very clear.

    Please provide help on this regard.
