I am very surprised and shocked that my claim for reimbursement has been repudiated by Medi Claim without proper basis. They seem to question the diagnosis arrived at by the Professor and Head of the Department of one of the reputed Hospitals in Bangalore. And they also question the treatment recommended by him. I request them to reconsider the claim and help me. For the reasons stated below, it was absolutely necessary for the insured to be admitted to the hospital.

1. When I took my wife to the St John’s Hospital she was unconscious and was admitted in the Emergency Ward. To my knowledge, the letter sent to Medi Assist, directly by St John’s Hospital, on that day, along with the MRI Report, after the insured patient was admitted there, states this fact.

2. She was administered Saline immediately.

3. Doctors on duty at that time, who were treating her, decided that she needs to be admitted to the hospital for further treatment.

4. Saline administration was continued for about 24 hours. Other injections were also administered.

It would have been risky to not follow the doctors’ advice.

From the doctor’s reports, it is clear to me that the investigations carried out during the stay of my wife at the hospital, positively contributed to the diagnosis of the ailment that my wife was suffering from and helped establish the existence of ‘Neurocystcerosis with Seizure Disorder’. Further, I understand that the treatment for this ailment comprises of oral medication, which was commenced right then and is being continued. Therefore, it is clear that the Clause 4.10 reproduced by them does not apply to this claim.

They state in message, “The treatment is at a hospital which does not confirm to requirements of policy condition,” Please explain which conditions of the policy the reputed St John’s Hospital does not conform to, so I can check out.
