I have sanctioned 4lakh rupees as education loan from SBI, Digwadih Branch, Jharkhand.

And the bank is charging me interest despite of the statement given by the government regarding no interest against education loan.

I have talked to the manager there but he said "Has our bank given any such statement ?"

What is this? I would have accepted this if it would have been a private bank which would also be illegal.

So please can any body give me some important information about this so that I can contact my branch regarding this issue ?
