    Lo & behold!!
Another new way to cheat its customers by ICICI Bank credit card dept.
Today was the due date for my payment of credit card. as always i went to
deposit cash at the branch at Sir Ginga Ram Marg, Old Rajender Nagar. There to
my surprise and shock was a notice displayed at the counters that with effect
from the 1st June 2008 deposits for payment of credit card dues would attract a
surcharge of Rs. 100 + service tax. Now this is really unfair since niether in
the statement nor at the branch last month i.e. 10th May 2008, was it ever
disclosed that in future this would be levied. When i asked the branch manager
that when was this notice issued to them, he told me that it was on the 19th May
2008, that means not even a months notice. This clearly goes to show ICICI's
malpractise that it wants to collect Rs. 100 from each customer who wants to
deposit in cash without even bothering to inform its customers.
So beware of ICICI and its intentions...Hum hain na........aap ko lootnein ke
    liye.

    Hi,
There is alot of case regarding ICICI credit cards experienced personally and
heard from friend circle, only thing I do to stop this kind of frauds, I
personally inform everyone who come in contact with me not to use ICICI credit
    cards.

Must start doing from everyone's end, one person message reaching atleast 50
people without cost a penny. One fine day ICICI will have 0 customer for credit
    cards.

The Total ICICI bank all the departments are irresponsible...

Main thing is ,In banking Sector ICICI is having worst
employees. They will recruit the people hwo have the min.
Qualification like Xth Standard Pass. Most of the branch operating
executives are like that only.Because they will pay less salaries to
the employees.Obviously illiteraes what they will do ?Same thing....

CEO of ICICI bank also the same...He did his masters and everything
after he started his business....He is most cheating person before
    he starts this Business...

He Insurance & Credit card sections are the most dangerous in
ICICI.If you credit card in ICICI ,without informing you they will
debit from your Credit card and they will sent Insurance
Copy.Insurance copy will reach after 30 days.So that time you can't
do.Even if you cancelled the Insurance Policy,Money won't credits to
    your Card.

    Most Dangerous and tourcher Bank.

Beware of ICICI & SBI banks....

Avoid the transaction with these two banks....

This was mentioned in the statement in the same normal text, without
highlighting the changes. Read behind where they say how ot make payments.I
checked the statement after a friend told me and it was true.

It is not ICICI but most of banks are charging fees for payment of credit
card bill in cash. Same thing happened to me also. But I saved the fees. For
HDFC bank credit card bill on last day I went to deposite in cash, I was told of
this transaction charges. They suggested to deposite cash in my bank account and
then pay the credit card bill through ATM machine out side the bank. In this way
I saved transaction fees. Most of banks charge this service fees.
May be I am right this is done to track black money in the system or to avoid
converting black money in white. You can make purchase of 2 lakh through credit
card ( as per your credit limit) and next day pay by cash for the credit card
payment. In this way you convert black into white. By accepting chq or through
ATM IT department can keep a track of transaction.
Motto of banks now a days is- if you make banks take care of your cash , you pay
up for it. they suggest you to go for chq, e-transfer etc. where there is
minimum human involvment in processing the chqs and if any mistake arises it is
on part of depositer not on bank. For Handling cash more people is required and
banks have to pay higher salaries to responsible people who handle cash and over
all there is always a risk of human error and higher insurance cost. So as in
developed countries, you pay to open a bank account here in INdia they have
started with minimum quarterly balance of Rs. 5000 etc. and on non- maintainence
of that balance you are debited Rs. 750/-.
You go to link of any private bank website - services and fees section and you
will find fees for those services which you considered free previously .
Next time you pay your bill of newspaper , dhobi wala or dhoodhwala - think
    chqs.

    To
    R. Shankar Narayan – Asst Vice President,
    Card Services,
    HSBC
Subject: Currency conversion & hidden charges on international transactions

I purchased an item using my HSBC credit card in US dollars on the Internet. The
seller turned out to be a fraud. I stopped my payment but HSBC has not refunded
    my 3.5% for currency conversion.
Take an E.g. lets say I paid $100 ($1= 40 rupees) so total in rupees. is
    40*100=Rs.4000.
    Now add currency conversion rate 3.5 % i.e. 4000 X 3.5 % = Rs140.
Total paid to seller Rs4140. I should be refunded Rs4140.

    I paid $45.43 by mistake two times (24th May 08 & 25th May 08) and was charged
Rs1996.89 for each transaction inclusive of 3.5% currency conversion fees
according to HSBC. I canceled both the transactions on 25th May 2008 as the
sellers account did not exist. I received two refunds of Rs1876.98. They said
they will not refund the currency conversion charges of 3.5%.

If you calculate 3.5% of Rs1876.98 (amount refunded) you get Rs.65.70. That
    means I should have been charged Rs1876.98 + Rs65.70= Rs1942.68 (Total Rs1942.68
    X 2 = Rs3885.36) since I paid for the amount twice.

Why are you charging me Rs1996.89 instead of Rs1942.68

what are the hidden charges you are levying on me? No one is giving a logical
answer. Customer care say dollar fluctuates. I have spoken to them for more than
hours on my phone (Ashish Mukerjee ashishmukherjee@... ), sent emails to
    nodalofficerinm@... & info@... 20th June 2008 on receiving the
    statement but no reply.

    When I paid on 24th May 2008 I was charged Rs1996.89 and when I paid & received
a refund on the 25th May 2008 I was also charged Rs1996.89 then you cannot say
the difference is due the fluctuation in the dollar. Why the refunds are less?
The issue is not the amount but I have been using your credit card regularly to
make international transactions & this is the first time I have found out the
hidden charges which you are charging me. I have always trusted the reply I have
received from your customer care executives & today I feel cheated & betrayed. I
must have spent at least at least 200-300 dollars in the past but since I never
had a break up so I was unable to calculate the charges. I was about to make
your payment when I found these hidden charges
Please investigate into matter immediately. I will not be responsible for the
late payment till the matter is resolved. I have contacted you well in advance
before the due date through phone & email. I have also written a letter & given
it to your HSBC bank in Indore to forward to you.

Please take the matter seriously. I will not be responsible if I have to take
    unpleasant action.

    Awaiting your reply

ICICI and HDFC charge for cash deposit to savings accounts as well, so I think
you saved charges on the credit card but will pay in the savings account( as
usual in their hidden charges style! )

Just to highlight one more thing, this month ICICI credit cards payments last
date became 8th of the month instead of 12th like in previous years. So if
anyone is waiting for the last date ,please watch out.

And for cheques the date is even earlier by 2 days.(if you drop into their
cheque drop box then do it atleast 3 more working days earlier so atleast 5 days
before the last date). They try to do ECS on your savings account on the last
day morning , so you need to ensure that ECS is cancelled if you are making
    alternative payments.

Regarding the charges ,it is agreed they need money to maintain the bank
premises, but at the same time asking for Rs.100 ,Rs.150 is not at all
justified. If they had a more nominal charge and announce it 2 months in advance
    then it would be fair.
