I have taken Jeevan Akshey Policy No. 176652242 Dated 27-10-2009.in the name of my mother for Rs.800000=00. from L.I.C. of India Ambala Cantt Barnch. and I proposed the annuity to be paid yearly. Unfortunately my mother exired on 05-06-2010. { Approximately 8 months ago for the purchase of this policy} I put all the papers regarding death claim on 24-06-2010. In between I received postdated pension cheque of Rs.62428=00. for the period of 12 months. Before the settlement of claim I handover the postdated cheque to the branch because my right is only 8 months pension insted of 12 months. On 06-08-2010 I recevied cheque of Rs 800000=00 only as my principal amount. Than I was lodged a complaint for the broken period interest with L.I.C. Ambala Cantt Branch on 09-08-2010. In this regard I received a letter from IPP Cell that the annuitiant had opted yearly pension and died on after 8 months without obtaining any pension the department had only given the single premium to the claimant but broken period intrest is not given to the calimant.
In this regard I lodged the complaint in The OMBUDSMAN CHANDIGARH { I.R.D.A.} on 19-04-2011 and and received a letter Reference No. LIC/51/24/12/Karnal/Ambala from Office of The Insurance Ombudsman Chandigarh. for complete the some formalities and documents. I put all the papers which was demand by Ombudsman Office on 02-05-2011. But till date No responce from this office.
