Hello, My name is Kislay and i am currently working in Mumbai. I am another recent victim of Vighnaharta Direct Insurance Broking Pvt Ltd. In the month of September, 2011 i received a call from Mr. Kunal Malhotra explaining to me about an investment cum insurance plan offered by Birla Sun Life Insurance. He said that it was a good investment plan where i would invest a sum of 50,000 per year and after the end of 5th year, i will receive a sum exceeding 450,000. It included a premium bonus of around 30,000 every year, an interest rate of 8.5%, benefits of accidental death, Tax savings etc etc. I thought it seems to be a good plan so i thought of investing in it. I was always told that they are from birla sunlife insurance and they are not an agent. He had promised that anything he says if is not on the policy paper, i may cancel it then and there.


I purchased the policy on 26th september 2011 giving them a post dated cheque dated 30/09/11 for a sum of 50,000. But after giving first annual premium cheque, I SURPRISINGLY got call from them saying, "You will receive a call from our BROKERS asking you about your insurance plans" Notice they are calling the Birla sun life guys brokers. "If you don't do as we say they will try to put the insurance policy in their hand and will deduct many charges and hence your profit will be less". So i didnt mention in the call what benefit were promised to me. I should have smelled sulfur.


Well, yesterday on 17th october 2011 when i received my papers almost nothing they said was mentioned. There was no mention of premium bonus, accidental death benefits. Even the duration was 18 years as opposed to 5 years which they had told me. When I did an internet search for the name of broker mentioned in the policy, I was shocked to find out the number of people with whom the fraud has been done in similar fashion and then i realized what happened with me.


If the Birla Sun Life Insurance feels for their company reputation, they should stop this cheat broking firm from making any more false claims and ensure proper consumer protections


Under the aforesaid circumstances, I want to cancel my policy forthwith and request you to kindly return my money already paid to you i.e. Rs. 50000/- vide cheque dated 30.09.2011 in full at the earliest.
