This is regarding my policy with Birla Sunlife (Dream Plan), which was issued on 15/06/09, on annual mode, Premium Rs.26108.
On, 7th July , i got a call that my premium is due before 15/07/10, and i confirmed twice from customer care that i have fund problem, will be able to pay quarterly i was told by the lady on phone , that before 15/07/10, i can get the mode change by filling a form at nearest branch and by attaching a chq of quarterly payment with same.
On 10th July - i visited the branch (Som datt towers, FF, sector - 18, Noida , U.P), filled up the mode change form , deposited my chq, received a receiving of same, Receipt No:20397536, i again confirmed from lady there has my mode changed she confirmed , "yes it is " . Cheque got cleared of Rs.6527 from my account on 13/07/10.
On 30 July , i get a call from Customer care saying , that your policy will be lapsed , if rest of the amount of annual premium is not paid. on telling them repeatedly again that i have paid my premium in Quarterly mode, with application form submitted, they behaved in non-cooperative way and left me puzzled.
Concerns:
* Mis selling - Birla RM , told me the time of selling the policy, that i can get my premium mode change any time after 1st year .
* Mis guiding - Both the customer care officer and manager at branch , misguided me , before submitting my premium, that my mode is changed , pls be rest assured, and pay my premium next quarter as well.
Would request The Birla customer care and IRDA ombudsmen to help me in same, i want to pay my premium quaterly , will not be able to pay on any other mode except that.
If mode cant be changed , would request refund of entire amount as the policy has been mis-sold to me, and i dont want any relation with company who cheat customer with money.
