Dear Sir/Madam,
My Birla Sun Life policy details are below:

After having made my last due premium payment towards my policy (details above) and submitting the necessary paperwork in the first week of January 2010, my policy is yet to be reinstated because of an apparent error in the system at Birla Sun Life.
In the approximately two months that have passed since, I have made numerous telephone calls to their customer care lines. I have been given inconsistent and often vague responses as to why my policy is yet to be reinstated. I have asked for the issue to be escalated, have spoken to one supervisor, Mr. Nadeem and his supervisor as well, a lady whose name I do not recall. I have also been told that Birla Sunlife will call me back with a resolution and needless to say this has not happened.
All the customer care agents I have spoken to, have assured me on different occasions that my problem will be solved at the earliest possible, but I am yet to see any concrete steps taken in this direction. I have been given numerous timelines for the reinstatement of my policy, but none of them have been met.
I have completed all my due payments and the requisite paperwork. I have made two visits to their local branch office in Bangalore and raised numerous complaints. All the Birla Sun Life customer care representatives I have spoken to in the last two months or so, have acknowledged a problem in the system and promised to personally follow up on its resolution.
At this point, I have no faith in the ability of their customer care team to address my problem. I have undergone considerable stress and have wasted many hours seeking a resolution. While I understand that systems often fail and have problems, the inordinate delay in reinstating my policy is no longer acceptable.
I would be grateful if members of this forum can point me in the right direction to having this issue resolved and also advise me on what I can seek in terms of legal recourse and adequate compensation for the stress I have undergone and the time I have lost because of a system error at the Insurance company's end, apart from immediate reinstation of my policy.
