I on my last trip to the US bought a HP G50-104NR Laptop as well as a 22" LCD Monitor for my personal use.

Part Number: FR949UA
Warranty valid till: 29.11.2009
The problem is that a few days back my Laptop has seized to work or load the Windows on it. I checked with the guys at the Indian Helpline #'s & they were however unable to help me out.
I had a an online discussion with a Support Manager Mr. Faizuddin S. on Sep 6th who diagnosed that the HardDrive has gone bad, He gave me an Activity ID: 2415449 & assured me that all I have to do is to call up HP India Customer Support @ 1800114772 / 01242346992 & provide them with my Activity ID & they shall make arrangements to have a drive sent over with the Windows installation disc's as he has already lodged a solution for me under the above ID. Surprisingly when I called up the guys at the Customer support, I was again told that there was nothing they could do as I had bought the Laptop from US & needed to send it back to the US for replacement. Please note that during my online chat with Mr. Faizuddin I was also provided with a part number for the HardDrive & we checked online to confirm the availability of the same Drive with the Indian operations as the same was being used in the Presario series of Laptops in India.
This is the first time I have bought the said HP products with a lot of confidence about the quality & service style being offered when I had the Chat with Mr. Faizuddin but it all turned the other way when I called up the Customer Service Center & got an absurd solution to send my Laptop back to the US for service....... I have also been using a Toshiba Satellite Laptop which I bought from the US again & faced a technical issue with it sometime back & believe me just one phone call & they took care of the problem instantly so much so that they didn't have the part with them & they got it shipped from Singapore to set my Laptop right in time.... Now that is what is called Service......
One more thing, If my Laptop Warranty is not valid in India, Why have I been recieving calls to obtain extended warranty on my system from the HP India teams......
I fail to understand totally...... & sincerely hope that someone will take this matter seriously & help me in my plight urgently..... As it is I have lost all access to the Data on the HDD & am losing out on time as well......
