    Dear all/admin,
Here's one more a very disgusted and unhappy HP customer. Same problem, same laptop, same deductions, same response from HP.
So can we do something about this? Feel free to contact me. BTW, yes, i do have my bills and as stated by other customers, the laptop started showing the pattern as soon as the warranty expired (it was surprisingly so fast as soon as warranty expired that it felt that the laptop knew!! or may be HP wanted it that way, thereby increasing the demand pool to buy the next laptop.). I will never buy any HP again. Not even a printer.
    Ananth.

Angry HP Pavilion dv2500 series overheating and display problems

    Dear Sir,

I have HP laptop with following discription :

    Product : HP Notebook
    Series : dv2500
    Model : dv2601tx
    S/N : 2CE7352VRP
    P/N : GS117PA#ACJ
    Warranty : Expired
    Date of purchase : 07-11-2007
Invoice No. : DP/Q608/243. , New Delhi DATA POINT Pvt. Ltd.

From the first day of purchase i faced severe overheating problems mainly from side and back of the laptop, due to this i never used it on my lap in fear of thermal injury. I used it only after placing it on thick hard book on table for maximum ventilation just like desktop.

Due to overheating battery life is also reduced to 1/2 an hour only in this one year.
Many times it became auto shutdown when i used in seminar, exam and reading work and faced very much trouble. It became harmful for my carrier. Then i started to use it as minimum as possible and it never fullfilled the purpose for which i bought it. Due to lack of time i could not approach hp service centre for this. Including this problem after 10 months of purchase very severe problems appeared, when i tried to start my laptop multiple same small distorted displays(6 to 8 in no.) with many horizontal and verticle lines appeared instead of one full display and after few second of this restart occurred , and whole thing was repeated when tried to start my laptop again. For this i approached Hp service centre at that time delhi(Call no. 2602501731,WFM no. J9AV140803, Dated 14/08/2008 -19/08/2008) , repairing was done there and after 5 days i got my notebook. but heating problems was not corrected.
NOW EXACTLY SAME PROBLEMS have appeared and then i approached hp service centre by phone, he (from service centre) told me that this laptop has defective systemboard with nvidia video card , replacement of this systemboard is the only solution which is very costly and i have to pay . I shocked. it is factory inbuilt defect and why should i pay?? Then i contact customer care by phone (Ref.4605614379), he promised me that he will talk to higher authority and will call back , but till now i have not received any call from this ref. After that i registered a complaint in this regard (ID No.CCHSAP241541). after three days i received a call from hp on 03 ' nov at 04:54pm from ph. no. 01140759718 (name not known). He told me that he read my complaint properly and adviced me to go hp service centre first then if problems are found same then maximum discount will be given, and for this he will send email to service centre.
Next day i went to Hp service centre ,A-200 , Okhla Industrial Area , Phase -1 , New Delhi- 110020. (RT/QF/HPSC/03 S.No. J9MS041110). I told whole story to technician but he told me that no mail is found in this regard. Then I submitted my laptop there , and now i got an email from service centre for repairing charges which is Rs.11,581.15.as below
    Quote No.4606131804-461/
    Dated:6/11/2009
    Model no.GS11PA
    Systemboard(exchange) - 1 amount 7,500.00
    SPS-HEATSINK W/THERMAL PASTE PAD& FAN-DISC (non exchange) 1 amount 2,310.00
    Part Sub Total: 9,810.00
    Discount: 0.00
    Vat/cst/lst: 392.40
    Service charges:1,250.00
    Service tax: 128.75

    Total Rs: 11,581.15

I shocked , why should i suffer due to company inbuilt defect ??
Now I have taken my laptop from service centre without repairing and have been feeling very much trouble without laptop.
When i visited on internet then i found many people having this model are suffering from exactly same problems. For this you can visit on internet and on this forum.

It is clear that this model is defective due to bad architecture, cooling system and faulty systemboard. The problems is permanent and it will not be corrected by repairing only. I have been suffering due to this defective laptop since first day of purchase. I never used this laptop for the purpose for which i bought it. Same problems has appeared twice during two working year with permanent overheating problems , and it was not corrected permanently in first visit under warranty period.
I have bought this laptop after loosing very high amount of money, not only for 10 months or one year ,and i am not able to pay large amount of money(Rs.12000) and time in every 10 months, for this defective laptop.
I think HP cheated us.Now i am using another's laptop.
Now i dont want free repairing or replacement because this is not the permanent solution. I want full refund from HP.
    Sir,
kindly help me, and tell me what should i do??? What is the procedure to file case against hp in consumer court ?? I have all required documents.

I also want to appeal all those people who have same model and problems please unite and take action against hp. My email ids are:

    Default Ugh!

I have the same issues. This is my first Laptop. It was used in the last year and 1/2 about 20 hours tops. Now it will only turn on for up to 20 seconds and has not booted all the way up. Then it turns off. Why? Also, I have had the same problems with the overheating. But since it was my 1st, I did not realize all were like this. I did not use it on my "lap" because I thought it would be too hot for it. It was for my lap. Please respond. I believe I have my receipt still from 07/2008...

    Hello,

As you mentioned that the problem is coming again and again, it clearly shows that the particular laptop is faulty and it is irreparable, hence to be changed or the parent company has to refund your money + damages, to claim refund + damages first you have to send a written notice via registered post to the CMD of the HP, mention all the complaint nos. registered with the HP customer care, attach photo copy of all the job sheet you have, purchase details, and ask them for the refund + damages as the problem is coming continuously and it is irreparable.

The following judgment may help you:

Computer manufacturing defect, major component defective, could not be rectified -- Deficiency in services proved -- Computer used for over one year -- Forum directed to refund 75% of price of computer -- Order upheld in appeal.

    [ Classic system v. Smt Manju Khanna (2005) I CPJ 375 : 2005 (I) CLT 648]

Note: Do not forget to keep the slip of registered post in safe, it will help you if you need to knock the Consumer Forum.

If still have a question then feel free to contact us again.

    Default dv2500t overheating problem

Bought the hp pavilion dv2500 in october 2007. Constantly runs hot since purchasing it. Lately, s-video, fingerprint reader, vga out, and webcam stopped working. Not all at once, but over the course of the last few months. Computer started shutting off randomly, so I checked gpu temperature: 145 degrees Fahrenheit. That was the last time i checked it. Took it to computer repair and diagnosis was that GPU stopped working and I'd need to replace motherboard.

Now I hear that this is a common problem among dv2500 laptops, and I'm wondering if HP is responding to the complaints. Is there a class action lawsuit filed? Is there anything I can do as a consumer to receive recompense for this problem? Computer is 2 years old. What can I do? If you have any information, please email me. Thanks.

Default DV2500 over heating HP JUNK!!!

As stated over and over again in this thread I too have a POS DV2500 that overheats. 6 months after purchase I got the multiple boot screens. HP replaced the defective parts under warranty. 28 days after my 1 year warranty expired guess what happened? Multiple boot screens again! I called HP support and even tho this was the same problem they had already "repaired", they wanted to charge me $450 USD!!! I went to a repaiur shop and the owner stated he gets them in ALL THE TIME for heat related failure which had caused motherboard component failure. He had a stack of replacement boards he had pulled and repaired. I got my board replaced for $150 USD. I will NEVER AGAIN buy anything made by HP. This is an obvious design defect ignored by HP. Thier customer service is a joke.

Default HP , The last word

    Dear Sir,

I purchasd an HP note book on 6th September 2007 from Qatar and took it to India. From the 6th month of purchase i noticed that the battery does not stand longer and my note book get heated up fast. I didnt mind it much. From last few months the notebook does not work. I complained several times with HP , but no response.

when the laptop is heated up , the graphic are messed up and green color fills the screen. And the laptops display will be totally gone.So I forcefully turned off the laptop. When I restarted the computer, the problem was with the screen .I gave the laptop for service and lost my money as they could do any thing and charged inspection fee.

Later I found that, the problem was with the coolent part and its defenetely a manufacturing default. Also I heard that they called back many dv 2530 series for the same compliant.

    Serial No: 2CE732254Y

Please help me to get my laptop serviced properly or recall and replace with another one.

    Thanks in advance.

Thumbs down HP DV6 series NVIDIA due to overheating display gone !!

    Hi,

I'm also one of the victim of this Nvidia fiasco. My laptop was working fine from last 2.5 yrs, but suddently its DVD started functioning. I submitted my laptop to RT outsourcing, Sec 14 , Gurgaon for checkup as my laptop was covered under extended warranty program. They asked me to replace my mother board as it was causing the prob. The new mother board failed just after 2 months due to this overheating prob and now my warranty has also expired. They replaced the faulty motherboard !!!

    Angry Same Issue and more

I also have the DV2500 ... not only is mine burning my leg as we speak, but in the past month I've been having multiple issues.

It started with my mouse being extremely weird and not working properly. Then it went back to normal.

Then, it wouldn't go on. And since then I've literally had to old down the button multiple times for about 10 secs at a time for it to finally power on.

My SD card reader does not recognize anything is in there. I have not tried putting a disc in yet.
All of my touch controls up top will not work

and the BIGGEST thing ... my sound is completely gone. It says "no audio output device is installed"

We called and I tried to fight it considering it's not even 2 yrs old yet and they won't do anything.
They said I can send it in and they'll fix it all for $398 ... but it's only covered for 90 days after that and seeing as how many people have problems with it, I'm thinking I just need to buy a new one. I'm just aggravated that I spent more in attempts to get something that would be of good quality and would last. I will never buy another HP.

    Default Cheated With HP Laptop

    Hi,
I have purchased a HP Pavilion series Laptop on January 14 2009. When I purchased it was the best product as per the company demand, so I have to pay them the best price (almost 60,000.00).

I have also paid them the warranty extension money (6,500.00) to extend the warranty for further 2 years. Each time I have never gone with any kind of negotiation with money as I expected that it will give me the best service.

But in this 1 year 3 months span I have to keep my laptop with them at least 6-7 times as various parts of the laptop stopped to work. Each time I submitted the laptop in the service station I have to keep it with them at least 7-15 days.

Yesterday the hard disk has been crashed. This has happened twice in last six months. I have lost all my data & my business is terribly down with this. I am having a tremendous loss with my business with this kind of HP service.

Now, to protect my business from any further loss - May I have any kind of help from your side, so that I can get a total replacement of the product or I can get back my money to submit this product to the company, so I can go for any other better product which will not harm my business anymore?

Cause I have contacted their service help desk & they have told that they will get back to me after 2 days that how much help they can do to me - So, after 2 days if they replaces the hard disk (which may crash & loss data in further 3 months as per the previous experience), I have to wait for another 10-15 days. In the mean time I will lose my business tremendously.

Can you please help me over the matter?

    Thanks
    Suddhashil Ghosh
