Exclamation Compaq Presario V3000/V6000 manufacturing defect

    i have a HP Compaq Presario V6000 laptop.Its Details:
    Serial: CNF7062F73
    Product: RZ897PA
    Model Num: V6211AU

    Warranty Period: FINISHED

In short, my problem is: When I push the on button the blue lights come on displaying the on/off button, the volume, etc. Absolutely no video display on the monitor. When we hooked it up to an external monitor.....still no video display.

I did a lot of resarch on the about this problem. and finally came to a conclusion that it is a MAINBOARD manufacturing defect (specifically, the integrated nVidia card, lets not get into the techical details...)

The CAUSE of this problem has been PROPERLY RECOGNISED by HP, and hence they RECALLED with <Links not allowed by site> HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement.

They gave a list of affected product numbers. which is perfectly matching with my laptop's product number(<Links not allowed by site> proof for matching).

Happily i called the HP Tech Support (080-30306363). i gave my laptop details. The executive checked his system and said that, "YOUR LAPTOP CANNOT AVAIL <Links not allowed by site> HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement.......... because my system dosent show your product number for this recall.......... i dont know anything about <Links not allowed by site> this........... I cant tell you the price of a mainbord bcoz i am in technical department............ sorry sir........ call service center near your place......... bnagalore, jaynagar (080-43464646)......... sorry sir...... I cant help.......... call service center"

i called service center. they said that dont know the price of the mainboard! after shouting for 3-4 mins, they answerd that it would cost around Rs.20,000 ONLY!!

    PLZ HELP!!

if you want, i can provide every details of my legal purchase iof the laptop.

    Default same Issue

i have the same laptop with the same issue. HP is a massive company and we cant do anything... :-(

anyway, this site has helped a lot of people like us. our last hope.

For the PROOF, you can just visit the HP India official site, and then to the SUPPORT AND DRIVER SECTION.

There, in the top SEARCH Field, just type: HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement.
Most probably you will get a like in the second position.

Something like this: ....HP Pavilion dv2000/dv6000 and Compaq Presario v3000/v6000 Series Notebook PCs - HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement -..c01296338 ... during the Duration of the HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement to determine whether you are ... to be covered by the HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement program for 24 months aft................

    Dear Sir,

Have you lodged a complaint with HPs official Website so far. First of all post your complaint with that website and collect the CCHS number in it's response. Wait for the response for 10 days and revert back soon with the response from the Co.

    thanks for replying..

yes i called more then 5 times to the tech care. and they almost gave me 4 referance number. i have noted only one because i thought this is the most important.
the guy gave me this number when we had the conversation mentioned above in red color (in short).
he clearly said that my product number is not in his list. and i repeatedly said that i have checked myself several times in the official web site and it is perfectly matching. but still he said that he cant help.
and then gave me this ref number, and asked to contact the nearest service center for a PAID replacement.

    ref number: 4603330478

all these things happend today afternoon (5th Sep. 2009)

i called the service center and then they asked for the serial and product number. then they said that my laptop is not under warranty anymore (which i knew). But, this replacement is for all the prodects listed in the official web site of HP. it dosent matter that it has warranty or not.....
the service center guy asked my to bring the laptop and there is no chance for a free repair. it will cost around Rs.20,000.

    thank you

I have the same problem with my HP Compaq v6000, Series V6205NR (sn/CNF70111HB)
    It won't start up.
I called the service center and then they asked for the serial and product number. then they said that my laptop is not under warranty anymore. Even my series number (V620xx) is listed in the official web site of HP to be eligible for replacement.
The service center guy tell me they can fix the problem with the price of $250.00.
I told them for the price I will be better off get another laptop myself.
I will never buy another HP product, and I am making sure this issue will be distribute around the globe.

    thank you

Default Presario v6205nr laptop - recall offer expired

I purchased a Presario V6205NR laptop in 2007 from Best Buy. Since that time I've experienced problems where the wireless network adapter would not be recognized during boot up. Just recently I discovered HP knew about this issue and offered a free repair for my particular model. The problem is the recall offer for the free repair was
supposedly sent to all customers, via email, that registered the particular model laptops included in the recall and expired on 5/31/09. I never received this email even though I registered my laptop the first time I used it. After repeated attempts to speak with a supervisor at your offshore tech support, the best offer I received was to repair the laptop at a cost of $300. The laptop is a few years old now and I only paid $599 for it. It's obviously not worth spending $300 for a motherboard replacement which is supposed to be free based on the recall. I have always purchased Compaq/HP laptops, but due to this horrible customer service I will now purchase a different brand. HP tech support service is the absolute worst and all they offer is scripted answers with no regard to customer satisfaction. All I want is to have the laptop repaired as per the recall at no cost. Has anyone had any success fighting HP with over the recall period expiring on 5/31/09?????

    Default and balk

i have exactly the same problem.

just outside or warranty, just will not start up. the blue leds come on and there is power to the device, it is not a faulty screen as i have plugged in a monitor. i work in IT so it is not something that i have over looked.

    this is a manufacturing default.

it is most likely the motherboard or the chip.

    Default v3000 is worst model

.. i don't belv it, thought it was my problem and blaming my wife for nt using it properly- until i saw so many messages; i have been having exact same problem and the HP authorised center (Bangalore) said they need Rs300 as diagnosis cost to tell me how much will it cost for repair - said anywhere between 10-12k, but only 90days warranty - if you need, take extended warranty for 5k - so about 20k; - and a local guy offered 3k for resale value; would rather use teh HD and give that toy to my 10 month old son ... pathetic man

    - did any one try getting fixed it? spent 10k? - is it worth it? or give it for e-waste treatment?

_ suggest me as well pls

    Default Compaq Presario V6205nr SN:CNF7082HZX

I have been on the phone with HP for days and still nothing. The first two people I talked to said that there was no such issue with my model. I then pulled it up and offered to send the link to them. I then was told I was out of warrenty and that I should just buy a new one. I now feel as though HP is nothing but a bunch of lying fools who will do anything to swindle customers out of legitamate repairs.

Screw HP and this worthless extended service period that they refuse to honor. I have the same issues with the black screen on my laptop and the slim line I own.

These will be the last HP products I will ever own.

    Angry Hell with COMPAQ

This is very TRUE! And seriously unfortunate for the lower middle class guy like me who even can’t afford 5k/month. Since I am software student I needed to upgrade to VISTA which is bit graphics intensive. After upgrading to VISTA, within 10 days my display chip (called GPU) bowled- up because it was unable to bare the heat generated. AND I AM GETTING PUNISHMENT FOR CHOOSING COMPAQ PRODUCT. My college project is incomplete and I have to go to my friends place to complete it.

May I make it clear to all reader the AMD is very good processor and has no problem. It is Compaq who has not used it properly

I AM TAKING PLEAD “I WILL NEVER RECOMMAND HP/COMPAQ PRODUCT TO ANYONE”
