Same issue as mentioned above, black screen and when showed in HP authorised center they said that this is failure model and the amd processor and nividia graphics should be never put together . and due to this reason only the mother board is gone. if we relace the same it ll cost 14000 and still the same problem will be faced in future.

HP being such a big company didn know this? worst customer service. never opt it.

yes its the famous dv3000 compaq model. if the fact is so known by compaq(blown mother board) why isnt the cheat company doing anything about it. are they proving us fools who gave our hard earned money to them n then writing mails to court for which no actions is taken. company should be sued. i have bot the compaq presario v6000 series amd processor its having the over heating problem now the onboard display has gone the @@@@@@s have designed such a way thay the laptop will stop working after the warranty period.now the laptop cannot be repared i have to change the mother board but after changing the board i still will n\hav no guarantee wthr it will work or not the hp motheboards have the manufacturing defects and i think hp should give me new laptop after there bullshit reseach is over on there 3rd class product i will nver buy hp product in my life n i will also not recomend it to ney 1 nwy 1 impressed wt the hp products are fools buy ney thin else than a hp product .i feel SAHARA laptops is the better option hahaha........

You all know cause you found your way here. HP/Compaq does not care about their customers, they care about selling the most products and making money, quantity over quality. My V6205NR had the mobo replaced due to the heat problem with the Nvidia Go6150 Graphics Chip. It has again died, and they told me to pay up or buy another. HP/Compaq should be steered clear of, tell all your friends, neighbors, anyone who will listen. I have since purchased another NON HP/Compaq laptop. I build, buy and recommend computers and accessories to people. I will never steer them toward a HP/Compaq product ever!!!!! If they cared, they'd fix it right, but they put the same problem parts right back in and keep screwing you, hoping to make it past the warranty period and tell everyone tough!!!

I purchased a compaq v3000 laptop and it started giving me problem of Display. I repaired it once for Rs.3000/- but after 60 days the Display gone once again, now whats to do?
I tried service center in Nagpur but in vain.
By profession we are computer professionals and also runs an oldest and reputed computer institute in the city , we have 230 students. WE SUGGEST OUR STUDENTS TO NEVER BUY ANY COMPAQ HP PRODUCT.

same problem, i asked the authorized service center they said that the problem is with nvidia driver chipset and needed replacement. i asked about the cost they said it may be between 4000 to 4500. and also said that v3000 is the flop model of HP/Compaq each and every laptop gets problem after 1.5 to 2 years.
we should sue HP on this regard.

i had purchased hp pavilion dv2601tx in dec'07 and in june'09 i faced the problem of power on but no display which has now become a regular one in many hp notebooks of dv 2500 series ...the service center has asked me to replace the motherboard for Rs12500/-.
if u guyz are takin any action against hp plz Let me know as there are many of us who are facing the same problem

guys guys!! same problem here with V6000. Got it repaired for 5k INR and two months later it went Ka-BOOOOM again. One thing is certain I'll never ever never buy Compaq/HP and I'lll never ever never recommend it to anybody!!!

hi all, same problem with my v3000 its worse laptop i've use before, i purchase it on 2007 and first blank screen problem happen on 2008, i've contact HP technician and they said the problem is in the motherboard and have to replaced with approx cost about $240 - $400... fortunately someone on vid sharing web told me how to repair & avoid the problem..
after working for about a year blank screen problem occur again, resoldering again then working again, it happen every year, finally in 2010 I'm out of luck, fail to repair it and need BGA rework..
for those who have plan to purchase HP laptop please consider heat problem except you'r in arctic or greenland, strongly avoided to buy HP laptop if you'r living in tropical, in my opinion HP laptop is the last brand in an hundred laptop brand

your words echo in my ears and i feel your every emotion as i had the misfortune of buying this notorious laptop. But one year later, when the laptop was just out of hte warranty period, it initially developed sporadic display problems to completely go kapoot within a month. i was shocked to hear the word from people at HP who blatantly called it a problem with the design. I ran helter skelter to get justice but realised my folly of not having got extended warranty. Thus i had to dump that laptop of mine and muster cash to buy new one.

I was reminded of the period of my life when my parents saved for years to buy a black and white TV which served us in turn for many years. and here i was to forego something much more expensive in such a profligate manner. It brought tears to eyes while also incensed me against HP. I wrote complaints to their administration at the highest levels but heard nothing back from them.

Time does sap in your energies and in my case as well, i lost the will to damage this company's reputation as they were too big a monster to fight. I was reminded of my turmoil on reading this forum and decided to recollect that experience here.

Campain and tell all the potential buyers that the worst
laptop manufacturer around is HP Compaq, i have dissuaded
around 15 potential HP laptop buyers from buying that brand.
glad to say around 10 has been refered to Sony VAIO and the
rest DELL and Toshiba.
They can only understand this language.

Thats true they are Day Cheaters.
Compaq HP V3000 is problematic.
AMD processor with Nvidia Graphics is a DOOM.
While selling they had told me this was the best configuration.
Replacement is Change of Motherboard costing 10,000.
Government & Press People Should do something.

I bought Compaq V3000 in 2008....Its having overhaeting problems...and due to that shitty Nvidia chip with that overhaeing AMD processor...my display got dead in 2010 june...i got it repaired but after 3 months the same problem occured again....Kindly never buy AMD + NVIDIA + HP because its a complete package of chinese junk...remember my words...better go for dell or lenovo

Laptop's problem:
Just after 4-5 months of the purchase, we have been facing display problem (When I push the on button the blue lights come on displaying the on/off button, the volume, etc. Absolutely no video display on the monitor), battery backup problem. We have been taking it to the HP service center many times and once when it was under warranty, they informed us that they will have to change the Motherboard and they did the same. But the same problem developed again soon and we had to dump the laptop as we contacted the service center again and they were charging more than half of the laptop's original cost to repair the same.
Also, after going through the intensive search it was confirmed that this model of this particular series has MOTHERBOARD MANUFACTURING DEFECT and this model was withdrawn from the market.
It is my humble request to the HP company to do the needful.
