HP Laptop frequent mother board change

Can anybody help me! whether I am elegible to file a consumer case against HP. The details of my case is hereunder.

I have sumbitted the below details to HP customer care inittailly they respond well and gave me the CCH id for my case. CCHSAP21647. But now nobody is responding on my queries.


This is in relation to my Compaq laptop 6211AU bearing Serial No. CNF7072F5C, I bought this laptop on 19th March 2007. In its first year, the system didn’t give me any problem. But from November 2008 it has started to show major problems, i.e.within a span of 5month period the system boards were changed thrice (details are mentioned below)

While checking with HP service centre about the frequent system board problem they informed me that for this particular model the system board as well as Wireless LAN is having major problems due to which HP has provided one year extra warranty for this laptop.

Once more my Laptop is not getting on and I took the system to the nearest HP service centre in Vashi, Mumbai on 17/06/09. After inspection they confirmed me that the system-board is having problem and has to replace. This time they will not be able to replace my system-board under warranty and informed that the cost of system-board is starting from Rs.16,000/-. I have talked to HP customer care about this issue (Case No. 2608438195), the gentleman who attended my call also confirmed me that there is no further warranty for this model

So here come my questions:-
1) My Laptop is getting frequent system board problem because of the manufacturing defect/problem from your side. So how I will be liable for paying such huge charges for a defective product.
2) Even if the system duly gets repaired, the W LAN went off within 3 days in all three cases.
3) All of the four cases (including the current one) problem was “no display” i.e. system is not getting on – It clearly shows the manufacturing problem of your product.
4) From the previous case histories of my laptop you can find that in one occasion within a week time same problem has taken place after changing the system-board. So suppose if I change the system board now, what is the surety that the system board problem will not take place further.
5) The frequent system-board changing has a huge blow on my work abilities - I am working in project division of my company where I need to move different places frequently - Without my laptop and the data on it , it is difficult to carryout my work properly.

I too had same problem. Finally bought new one. Sony.
In last two years I changed it once, but again same problem.
I hardly usethe laptop for max an year.
