My Self Savan Parmar, I placed order for Laptop with Dell on 7/10/2010. This order was placed online which is a very normal way buy laptop/desktop from dell coz’ this way we can even customize the system which we want to buy to our configuration. So I selected Dell Studio 15 customized it to my desired configuration and contacted dell on 4th October 2010. On the same day I currier the cheque on 4th October which got debited from my account on 8th October

So once my order was placed on 7/10/2010, I was promised that will receive the laptop within 7/10 working days. They also provide me the link to the site where I can check current status of my order. Even after 10 days when I didn’t received my laptop, I called dell and get to know that there is some Hardware shortage so it will get to them in next 8 days after that I will get my laptop in another 7/10 days. Even after 8 days when there was still no sign of laptop so I called Ravi Paul who placed my order and he told me to wait for some more days. He also accepted that there is Hardware part shortage so it will take time but also suggested me that if I want I can also place order for new laptop as the current order is not getting cleared. He told me that he will get back to me with the new quotation for new system, which he didn’t send to me until I called him several times.

I received the new quotation and placed order on 2/11/2010 for Dell XPS this time. This time again the promise was there that will get the laptop in 7/10 working days which didn’t happened. Today its 15/11/2010 and I am still waiting for my laptop. Since so many days I am constantly calling Dell and they gave me only one answer that I will get my laptop on or before 18/11/2010. Finally today when I called for more then 5-6 times I finally got answer from one customer care person that my order is in Pre-Production State and so there are no chances I will receive it even on 18th November.

My money is stuck with the Dell for more than a month now and I am still waiting for a proper response but every time gets a false promises. I am left with two option one to go to consumer court and second is to consult my lawyer and take some legal action against Dell. Kindly Suggest what to do.
