    Thumbs down lenovo Y510 spent 1 month at service center

    I purchased a notebook PC, Y510 model No: 775844Q, Sr. No: ME-16251, Product No: ABQ0050149, on 23-05-2008, vide Bill No: B-285, from Royal Infovision, Shop No: 9, Premium Apartments, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana-141001, Punjab.

    After three-four months, the first problem surfaced. The display used to go off while working. the CPU used to keep working normally without the display. I hadn't even had the chance to save my work.I had to restart the system to get the display back.

    I registered the complaint with case ID: L8BF00EV. The service centre replaced the motherboard. The problem was solved.

    After that the hinges got loosened. I registered a complaint ith case ID: L8BM00J1 in Nov. 2008. Being busy, I wasn't able to get the service done.

    By Feb. 2009 end, the DVD drive popped up as a problem. It didn't read/write any CD/DVD. The only CD/DVD that worked included the ones provided with the system (Recovery and drivers). So, I requested for replacement of DVD drive and hinges with case ID: L932013K.

    The service centre replaced the DVD drive and requested to visit again as not the hinges but the complete LCD needed to be replaced. During this visit, I discussed with service Engineer that after installing drivers, the NVIDIA graphics card din't work properly. The screen started getting spots, display used to get hung up and computer restarted itself. The engineer advised me to reinstall windows. I did so but of no use.

    When I visited the service centre for LCD replacement, I informed him that his advice didn't work. He checked and received the notebook on 16-03-2009 and informed that motherboard needs to be replaced (again).


    On 02-04-2009, the service centre called me to inform that the notebook was repaired. I visited the sercive centre and spent two hours during testing at service centre only. At first, all went well except that Bluetooth was not working.I didn't check WLAN as no signal was available. I informed the engineer and he advised me to restart and if needed to reinstall the drivers. when I restarted the notebook, the driver CD wasn't being read. When I checked 'My Computer', I found that the DVD drive wasn't available there. I informed the engineer. He checked it by entering setup to find nothing except hard disk was available in IDE setup. He added that the notebook was also overheating. So, he received it back again. and I was left to wait...again...

    I hadn't purchased this notebook to enjoy servicing. But to work.And I have bought a notebook that has got me to work.

    In one year, one time LCD display unit replacement, two times DVD drive replacements (first replacement was at the time of purchase. The dealer had done it himself), two times motherboard replacements, there is a part request pending for the blutooth problem, and one month of service warranty period still in the row.

    Today I recd it back after 25 days from service centre. They have replaced the motherboard again for the IDE problem. I am still checking , if any problem is still pending...

    Plzzzzzzz help...I want my money back...not interested in replacement...

    Default lenovo y430 gift not received and pirated OS

    This is Ateesh Deepankar Giri pursuing btech in gandhi institute for technological advancment.i am in 4th semester.sir I had bought a lenovo laptop Model no:lenovo Y series notebook
    .Product no:278136Q.
    Serial no:MP00D6L.
    date of purchase:-1/8/2009.
    From NS computers,thana chhak,bhadrak
    Orissa-.756100s
    Sir this is in the name of my father Mr sanatan Giri.

    When we had bought this laptop we had a offer for a gift of Sony Z555i phone
    For which we had made a demand draft of Rs1499 in the favour of OFFBIT Marketing Services on 28/2/09. Payble at service branch,kolkata.As it was said we handed over the draft and recquired documents to suppllier NS computer for onward dispatch.
    We were asked to wait for a month for the gift.then when we called back he says you will get it in 15 days.and this continued till last month.then we asked for the draft to be returned.
    Is this the service you provide to your customers.

    The OS windows vista home premium that was being instaled in my computer was a pirated one.once while I was doing some work in the net it disabled my OS and says there is problem in the activation key.
    If this is the service provided by your company for your products then I feel sorry for myself to opt for the product and will try and if possible will inform my friends and relatives not to buy this product.and this is one of the main reason why also we didn’t obtain for renwal of warranty.
    Hoping to get back some reply.
