    Default complaint against a compaq laptop

    To Consumer Court,
    I, Nikhil Bansal, own a COMPAQ PRESARIO 145TU (CQ40) Laptop purchased on 12th November 2008, which makes it under the warranty period. In December 2008 that is around one and half month later, it started to hang within 20 to 30 minutes showing 100% usage of C.P.U in C.P.U. meter which caused to loss of my work. I called H.P Customer Care Service Centre, for guidance, on 12th January 2009 (via Reference ID-2605112308),I was told that this may be a problem of Processor's Overheating, and recommended me either to take the Laptop to nearest Service centre . Some more problems were noticed like my laptops keypad was loose from left hand side and Bluetooth was not working efficiently. So I took my Laptop to Service centre in Faridabad i.e. Digitech services Pvt. Ltd. [FF-7,1st Floor, S.C.O-100, sector-16 Faridabad (Haryana)] on 20th January 2009 and reported the issues. They asked me to submit my laptop, so I did. On 22nd January I got a call to collect my laptop, I went to collect my laptop after repair. When I conducted a check I found some Hardware problems in my laptop, now keypad was loose from right hand side, DVD player was not set properly (it was shaking),scratches on left hand side of keypad panel, and out of all the major i.e. there was gap between upper panel and lower panel of the laptop, more so in the middle and left side .As the mentioned problems were not there prior to repair in the service centre, so I called H.P Customer Care Service Centre to report the complaint against the deeds of service centre (via Reference ID-2605419724).The Customer care executive recommended to take my laptop to another service centre i.e. RT Outsourcing, (A-200 Okhla Industrial State Phase-1 Main Road, New Delhi) and report my issue there. On returning home when I further went through it I found DVD player wasn't reading properly and C.P.U usage was still high all the time.
    On 23rd January 2009 I went to RT Outsourcing service centre in New Delhi and reported the issues that arouse after the so called repair in the previous service centre. They registered my problem under Case Id-2605442785 and I was told to submit my laptop since the system needed repair. I was assured that normally it takes 3 working days to procure the parts and my laptop would be returned maximum in a week’s time. But over 20 days and I was yet to receive a call. Repeated phone calls to the service centre had been simply a waste of time for me, as they kept on repeating that "your part (i.e. DVD player) has been ordered and it will hardly take one or two days to reach us”. When I asked them about the other problems they said other problems have been resolved. I am a regular B.Tech student and I am always in a need of my laptop. Even after repeated reminders to the service personnel about my need they failed to pay heed to the urgency with which I need to have my laptop back. So finally on 14th February after 21 days I went to service centre and asked for my laptop they again stated the same reason that your part is still awaited and it will hardly take one or two days to reach them but I insisted to return my laptop so they returned it with incomplete repair, when I checked for the problems which aroused after service in Faridabad's service centre were still there and moreover there was a crack in one of the laptop’s backside part which was not there prior to service of my laptop in R.T.O service centre, I approached supervisor of R.T.o service centre and reported the issue he just simply made different excuses and denied to provide repair to problems(keypad, gap between upper panel and lower panel of the laptop in front side and left hand side), he said that they can provide service only to the part which was already being ordered(i.e. DVD) and it will hardly take one or two days to reach them and they will call me to get part replaced. And then eventually I received a call on 18th march (i.e. 1 month 3 weeks later from the date of reporting the issue) regarding the replacement, they told me to come and get the part replaced anytime during the working days, because of lack of time I was unable to reach them before 28th march and when I reported there they said that your part have been returned because I didn’t collected it earlier. If they would have told me that I have to collect it within 2 days I could have collected it earlier. This proves that they can make us wait as long as they want as our time is not important but they can’t wait for customers even for a few days.
    It is really ridiculous that a well renowned company’s product doesn’t work properly, and an authorized service centre can damage a product and mistreat customers in this manner. With this kind of behaviour and such a late service. I hope u well understand how important is time for me being a student. Apart from time this carelessness from their part has subjected me to great mental and physical exhaustion. I would have complaint to Consumer Court much before, but their continuous wrong information made me to wait so long.
    In the wake of not getting any specific reply and service from the service centre, wasting my time keeping me in a problem. I think it’s time to take some strict action against them. I request you to kindly look into the issue since this has become a very serious problem for me and has hampered my work considerably over the past month. Please guide me What To Do?

    Default complaint for compaq laptop

    Hi this is Mohd.Shoib from Saharanpur one of your customer of Compaq Laptop Model no CQ40732

    I am using your Compaq laptop since 6 months. Now I have the problem in mother board. I have taken that to your Dehradon branch 22 days ago and up till now I haven’t get any response from there side I don’t know what are they doing. They have called me three times in Dehradon saying your laptop is ok now but when I went there wasting my time and money they refused that it’s not working. They are also saying that we have got the parts since 15 days so why they are not putting that in. Now I m tired of what the service you are providing to the customer. It’s also makes a effect on my business I am running a downloading shop and it is close from 22 days. So you can take out the less of 22 days and also the loss of time and money that I have spent on your company while they call me in Dehradon. So I kindly request you please make take care of my query.
