Dear Sir/Madam,

I had purchased Dell Studio 1535 in Aug/Sept of 2008 at a cost of approx INR37000.00. Its hardly been 1.5years and now my Optical Driver has stopped functioning. I am really disappointed by the product quality as hardly I have used my optical driver more than 20-25times. And it was never used to burn any CD/DVD.

I have called up to the customer care and the solution provided by them is going to cost me minimum of INR12394.00. As 1 year warranty is over I have to pay full price to get a new Optical Drive. But DELL wants me to purchase Optical Drive along with Full One Year Warranty which is mandatory. Already I had a bitter experience with DELL, the components provided by it last only for ONE year. Then there is no point for me to opt for 1 year warranty as I have lost my faith in DELL.

How reasonable does it sound to that merely after 1 and 1/2 year of usage I need to pay more than one-fourth amount to get a new Optical Driver.

I had made a request for Engineer visit. The engineer came, spend some time with my laptop & left. The only difference get reflected in my Credit Card statement, I paid a bill of INR1364.00 for engineer visit. There was no improvement in the condition of my laptop.

DELL is overpricing its consumer for its poor quality products which are reliable only for 1 year i.e. till warranty is provided.

I would like you to sincerely address this issue and request you to provide me an affordable solution.
