I am Gouraba Rath. I have a Tata Landline (4467402176) since quite a few months.

Initially they assigned me a no. 4467402000 which was meant for our comminity's security office and upon speaking to the team onsite they assigned me another no. But I realised that the secuiry Phone (in August 2011) is in my name too. So raised the flag to the concerned person who had finalised the deal with our community to provide the services as well as the customer care. Then i got a confimation that the security no. is converted to Zero rental incoming centrix plan. And i was told that there will not be any bill for this no. so no need to worry about transfering the phone. But i had the shock of my life during Dec when i got a bill of Rs. 2000 out of which around Rs 1800 was for the security phone and the services were barred on my phone i.e. 4467402176. So i refused and raised the alarm and then my phone strated working. Again the same issue this month.

The place where i stay mobile connectivity is weak and hence i had this landline. Infact i went through terrible trauma during Dec 2011 when my wife was admitted in hospital and we had situations where we could not communicate and that too because of no fault of mine (i have paid all my bills).

To be precise i would like to put down the things in chronological order:

a. The first bill that i received had amount pertaining to days prior to installation of phone at my residence. And i was told that it is due to voice testing done by the local team. I protested but since the amount was small and Tata Tele team told me to pay and they will resolve the issue, i paid.

b. The other no. i.e. 67402000 (Security no.) was on my name and bill came for that. I raised this issue and was told that it is because my ID proof have been used and hence its in my name, whereas i have not even signed the forms for the same. Then i was told that the same has been resolved and got a request to pay the amount as all other connections are based on this no. I was convinced that the issue has been resolved and paid.

c. But the issue was not solved and in Dec i got a bill for Rs. 2000+ out of which Rs. 1800+ was for 4467402000. and hence my services were disconnected. I had serious mental trauma at that time as my wife was hospitalised as we were expecting our baby. There were situatrions she could not reach me and had quite a few unpleasant situations (this is because the mobile signals are weak in my area). I raised this issue and suddenly the phone started working. I had paid the bill for my no. (4467402176) and asked for disconnection.

d. Again in Jan 2012, suddenly the phone outgoing stopped working and when called they said overdue outstanding. And upon chacking online i realised they continue to bill the security no. to me.


Now i want to take this up very seriously with the authorities and seek compemsation for what i have gone through. I HAVE ALL THE COMMUNICATIONS WHICH PROVES THAT THEY HAVE GOOFED UP.

I am in Chennai, please suggest how can i proceed to file a case.
