    Exclamation Airtel has got to be the worst in customer service

    My family and I shifted from US to India and took up residence in 3034 Sobha Jasmine Apartments in Bellandur, Bangalore. My mobile contact number is: 9900515847. After moving to India after so many years, we are pleasantly surprised that customer service has so greatly improved including BSNL, whose internet broadband and landline phone we have. I wanted to apply for an airtel connection because you supposedly offer higher speeds than BSNL.

    On July 24, 2011, I called Customer Care (080-44444121) and applied for a landline and broadband internet connection. They told me that within 24 hours someone will call me and if feasibility exists, will come and collect the application form. Within a few hours, a sales executive from Airtel's Marathahalli offoce, Mr., Naveen (mobile number: 8197487184) came over, collected the application form, relevant address and ID proof documents along with Rs. 600 in cash and told my wife that the connection will be installed on saturday, July 30. Nobody came to install the connection and we did not get any calls for reasons as to why they did not show up. On Tuesday, August 2, I called Mr. Navin at 11.00 am and he said that he will definitely come in at 4 pm and install the line. At 5 pm I called Mr. Naveen and he did not pick up my phone. I knew that he was playing games. So I called from my driver's phone and he immediately picked up. He said he will call me back in 10 minutes and of course never did.

    At this point, I called Airtel's customer care number (080-44444121) and they told me that the application was never uploaded into the system and said that someone will call me within 12 hours and resolve the issue. This morning (August 3), noone called and I called Customer service back. They gave me a complaint number (1710072) and said they will look into the matter, I called Mr, Naveen from my mobile number and of course he did not pick up. Next, I called him from my office and he picked up the phone right away. He told me that he will call within 10 minutes and never called.

    Now, I do not know what to do. I dont have a connection as promised and Mr. Naveen has disappeared with my 600 Rs. Shame on you guys that BSNL, a government enterprise was far superior in customer service. They installed the connection promptly, never collected any money upfront and are always available to answer questions and their bill is very clean to read. As a last resort, I am writing to you for help.
