Default Complaint against Bharti Airtle for overcharge bill

    Dear Sir/Madam,

This is Manish Sharma from Indore (MP); I went Bangalore on 28th May'2010 for job hunt. There I took Airtel landline phone with broadband connection at my rental room for my routine job work. My Address was 2070/4 East End, A Main Road, Jayanagar 9th Block Bangalore - 560069. The landline number was (080)-41536356 and my Airtel Account No was 15834730. Due to some family problems I get back within a month i.e. I returned from Bangalore on 27th' Jun' 2010. A day before leaving I called to Airtel Customer Care and explain them the situation and request them to disconnect the phone and the broadband connection. I also deposit my telephone instrument and modem to Airtel's BTM layout outlet on 26th Jun'2010 as they suggest me to do so. I got my first bill (I suppose that would be last too) and I deposite the amount (602/-) at Koramangla layout through one of my friend in Bangalore.

In Aug’2010 I called to Airtel Customer Care to know the status of my payment. It was clear at that time and I also told them that I am not in Bangalore and this connection is supposed to be closed. I do not remember the name of the person I talk at that time but he told me that there is no due and I need not to worry about this connection.

On 23rd of April' 2011 around 1:20pm I received a phone call from some Mr. Rajiv Singh (08447957137). He himself introduced as Section Officer from Delhi District Tees Hajari Court. He told me that I need to be in court before 2pm (which is next to impossible for me) He told me if I failed to appear there then they will fine Rs 53,000/- as penalty. I ask him about the matter he did not tell me about the matter instead he gave me another number of a advocate named Mr. C K Oberoy (09582105454). He told me that he is the person who is handling this case.

I called Mr. C K Oberoy and ask for the matter. He told me that Bharti Airtel has filed a case on me for non-payment of due bill amount Rs 2,403/-. I was surprised. He then explain me that they have sent 3 notices at my Bangalore rental room and today is your hearing in the Delhi Tees Hazari District Court. If you do not appear there then Court will fine you Rs 53,000/-. And they will also issue an arrest warrant against me. He suggests me to deposite Rs 2,403/- in any Airtel outlet in Bangalore for my telephone account before 2pm and let him know the receipt number so he will close the case. As I was totally unaware about the matter I speak to my friend in Bangalore to deposite the same amount in any nearby Airtel outlet as soon as possible. He deposit the same amount in Koramangla outlet at 1:55pm as that is the nearest outlet from his residence. I gave the receipt number (05638622) to Mr. Rajiv Sing and to Mr. C K Oberoy both. Mr. C K Oberoy told me that he will withdraw the case and the case papers will be sent to me within 4-5 days to my address in Indore. He asks me to send a SMS for my Mailing address and Email address both. I did the same immediate after I cut the call. Till date I did not received the papers and also I did not receive any mail from him. I did try to call Mr. C K Oberoy but he is not answering.

I called to Airtel Customer Support at Bangalore on 26th April' 2010. I spoke to Mr. Sharad as the call was dropped in between I called again and then I spoke to Ms Roshan and I ask her how it happened. She told me that they did not disconnect my number in Jun' 2010. They disconnect my number on 24th Feb' 2011. I ask her how it happen when I requested to disconnect and I deposited the Instrument and Modem to their BTM outlet on 26th Jun' 2010. She book my complain the complain number was 45560208 (unresolved till date).

I again called them on 7th May' 2011 to know the status of my complain. I spoke to Mr. Raviraj. He told me that the Complain is closed because somehow they were not able to contact me. I confirm my mobile number and email address. Both are correct in their record. I explain whole thing again to him and he looked into history of my account. He then told me that on 26th of Jun' 2010 when I request customer care to disconnect my connection somehow they have taken a request to reopen the line (out of my mind as how they can accept a request to open a line which is already open) He accept that there were some mistake and he again booked a complain and give me the complain no 46104072. He told me that the concerning deparatment officials will contact me before 10th of May''2011. I also updated my mobile number which is already in their record. I also gave them my Wife's Mobile Number and my landline number too and also confirmed my email address so that there will be no chance of not reaching me. I did not receive any call or email from them till date.

Again I called them on 14th May'2011. They have a very poor communication system as I did try 4 times I get connected to Mr. Madhu after 2 tries I was asking him about the status of my complain he put me on hold and then call disconnected. Again after 2 tries I get connected to Mr. Jaiprakash.... this time as I was frustrated by the communication system I directly told him that if this time call disconnected please call me back but he refuse my request by telling me that he do not have such permissions. I explained him the case again and I told him that if I not receive feedback then I will put my case in consumer court forum. He put my on hold and then the call disconnected.

I am frustrated from their IVR system as it has too many options to choose before talking someone and also they have faulty line or they are deliberately disconnecting my call.

I want my money back. Please guide me what to do next?

    Regards
    Manish Sharma

    Hello Mr Rakesh,

After a long period I got success to contact your customer care again.... And they don't know you and they also don't know that my complaint is resolved.... very funny thing for a big band company.
I request you to please call at your customer care once again to know what kind of resolution they have done for my complaint. Today I spoke to Ms Shalini and then the shift in-charge Mr Raghvendra T. to know what kind of resolution Airtel has done for me. They don't know anything about my complaint. They said that your phone was disconnected on 26th Feb'2011.... that’s it...... and my complaint is still unresolved I want to know why you people keep my number active till 26th Feb'2011.... when I already submitted request for closer and discontinue the same on 26th Jun'2010..... Today Mr Raghvendra T has booked another complaint and the complaint no is 47734294..... I think they are playing "complaint-complaint" with me...... every time I call.... I got a new complaint number......

One more thing I come to know from a resource in Bangalore..... that My Rajiv Singh and Mr C.K.Oberoy are not from any court .... they are from a CASH COLLECTION AGENCY and they do their work pertaining themselves as court .... threatening people to deposit money in time..... that is good for those people who actually cheating the company..... but my case is different..... I have my Discontinue request number as well as the Instrument deposit receipt at your BTM layout (Bangalore)..... One person in Bangalore has same issue and he has filed police complaint against Mr Rajiv Sing and Mr C.K.Oberoy..... and your company has refunded his all amount....... Should I do the same ?????

I need your valuable guidance, your help is highly appreciated..

    Thanks
    Manish Sharma
