    Thumbs down Bharti Airtel Limited (Landline Connection)

    I am from Noida and applied for a Landline cum broadband connection from AIRTEL by giving cash of Rs 500. But due to non availability of lines in my area the Airtel people told me that the connection could not be installed due to this reason. The Airtel sales executive assured me that the installation Rs 500 would be refunded to me as early as possible. But still the amount Rs 500 is not refunded.

    I also called so many times on the Airtel customer care 121. They always assure me about refunding money and they always gave me a new reference number. Now every time when I call on the customer care to check the status to refund my money, Airtel customer care executives always told me that the case is under process and it will not take more then next 10 days.
    After calling so many times on the Airtel customer care 121 after that I came to know about the Airtel Nodal office. I called him on 15th Nov08 and spoke to Mr. Anoop, I told him all the story and he also assured me that the your amount will be refunded in next 10 days. But after 15 days I received a call from Airtel and they told me that refund will take another 7 working days for the cheque to come. After the promiced time I again called the Airtel Nodel office and spoke him again regarding refund he told me to fax or email a copy of the cash receipt I did the same.

    I am extremely disappointed about the services that such a reputed company like Airtel is not as prompt in refunding the money as it is in taking. When our bill payments are delayed even for a single day we get 100 of calls but when it comes to refunding our hard earned money there is no sense of responsibility or ethics!

    Here is a copy of letter I have just dispatched to care.ncr@airtel.in

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I used to use an airtel landline number 0124-4269580 till last year. I am really fed up with your customer service. My story is as follows:

    I got my connection disconnected in May last year. I was using ECS facility. After disconnection, it was told to me that since my account is deactivated, I would have to pay the remaining 230/- separately. I requested pick-up which was executed flawlessly. And suddenly on due date, I found that you have deducted through ECS as well. Since then I am trying for a refund but alas Airtel seems to have enjoying the petty amount so much that they are not willing to let go of it. I called the Customer care 50-60 times for the refund, always given a stupid service request number which was not executed always. The service requests domain ranged from a petty call back(WHICH CERTAINLY NEVER HAPPENED) to answereable question "why the amount hasn't been refunded?".

    Then Airtel releases the cheque finally in Aug/Sept to my old address, which I specifically told in each call that there is no one staying there and there is no point; and to send it at my official address. Even then, it was sent to my previous address and eventually expired.

    I renewed my efforts again on 4th April 2009. I was told that the cheque would be delivered in 15 days. Now tell me what is expected of me? Tell me a small thing, you are ready to send some to pick payment up within a day but it takes more than year to refund it. The callbacks arranged but never materialized, service request numbers disappearing out of your records are few of many issues I have faced.

    Please treat this as a legal notice. Unless I am given a proper explanation why my refund was not given ontime and when I will receive my refund. I am sorry to learn that Airtel making his 00000001 customer beg so much for 230/-. Please note it is not a question of 230/-, just a question of right and wrong. If not given proper explanation, I would forced to take necessary legal action in appropriate legal forum.

    Default applied for landphone connection on sept 17th. but still not get

    Sir,
    I have request for 1 land phone connection to my resturent perpose on 17th sept. but still i didn't get it. ref no925457). EXICUTIVE no9600052209). this is the only proof i have. i have given 1500/- of cheque to them in the name of bharathgi airtel ltd.already am using 2 airtel lanphone number(0444210224/45). so far am satisfied with your service. this is the only trust i have applied one more connection with u. but now am realy dissapoint with your service. and also your executive are responding me very badly. they don know the manners and how to intaract with the customer. they dont know the seriouseness actually. i need very urgently the connection they said with in 24hrs will activate. but here almost one month over. when ever i call to ur executive they dont pick the call. so once they pick the call and i asked the m whre is youtr office they given me one wrong address. i just gone that place there is no airtel office. so kindly let me know can get the connection or else please refund my amount

    Our Landline No . 08041570773 is not working from past one week nobody is taking complaint in customer care & none of the executives not came to solve the problem from past 5 days.

    I would like to file a complaint against Bharti Airtel Ltd. for
    'financial harassment and mental torture' for the following matter.
    Case: I m Aniket Kumar, engineering student from PES School of Engineering,
    Bangalore. I took airtel postpaid internet connection (Phone #:9902826017) which is
    999 plan unlimited download and upload and got it activated on 22nd Sept'09. After 4
    days, i started receving lots and lots of sms from 54321 everyday. It said that i am
    charged with Rs.99 for downloading java games from airtel wap services. I checked my
    unbilled amount and it said 66 rs and the next day 630 Rs. This bill kept on
    increasing and my current due is Rs. 4000. I've used this connection for only 14
    days. I've been tortured mentally. I've called customer care almost everyday, i've
    talked to managers. My life after this connection has been a hectic. Despite of my
    complaints, they are not willing to solve the problem. All they want is money. Its
    like raping me although i'm a man. The details of the messages have been attached
    herewith.
    I'd be very thankful if my problem is solved with your help.

    Dear Sir,

    My name is Arfeen Ahmad. I have a complaint against Airtel for fraudulently continuing my landline connection despite repeated requests to cancel. Our first request was made on Nov 20th,2009.
    But no action has been taken , second attempt was made on second week of Dec 09 a guy came to my place and collected the balance amount and told us that out phone service is cancelled but that was again a try to make customers fool, In my third attempt fortunately after spending hours with customer service reps and cancellation team i got a REF # 934291 dated 24th Jan 2010 and it was assured that our service will be cancelled and no more bills will be generated.

    To continue my attempts I again called Airtel customer service team on Feb 11th 2010 got same reply from service rep that she is looking into my records and disconnected the call. “amazing customer service"
    We have explained repeatedly to Airtel customer service that we want the
    service cancelled but they refuse to disconnect this line and they are not
    visiting our premises.
    Kindly assist me in resolving this issue with Airtel.

    Our cancellation receipt number received from Airtel is 934291 and the date
    of cancellation was 24th January 2010.

    this is AJAY KUMAR ROY writting to seek your help in my pf issue. After
    getting all the papar work done from my company BHARTI AIRTEL SERVICES LTD.
    where i worked for near about TWO YEAR, i SUBMIT my provident fund clearance
    document to office BHARTI AIRTEL SERVICES LTD. DATE OF 25 JUNE 2009. HR OF
    BHARTI AIRTEL SERVICES LTD was told that it takes about 45 days to get the
    money. After two month i pf office confirm my provident fund clearance
    document submit 27 july, 2009.was told that it takes about 90 days to get
    the money but till today it is more than 100 days and nothing has been
    credited to my account.
    therefore i request you to look into the matter .

    Dear Bharti Airtel Ltd.,

    I requested for disconnection of my dsl landline 1204347521 on 19.06.09. There was nothing done from your side. The same was reminded on 18.05.09,20.07.09,21.07.09(twice),11.09.09 via e-mails and after continuous nagging cals from your customer care,finally someone turned up on 08.10.09 with a full and final letter of dues of 850 as on date which we immediately paid in cash. We also wrote in your reciept that this is the full and final payment and you may take possession of your instrument, which your representative confirmed will be done in 24 hours.

    Less suprisingly and more irritatingingly your bills just kept on coming and so did your stupid calls to continue to connection etc. with other options as you customer care put it, but we had flatly refused.

    We sent another spate of e-mails dated 11.12.09,14.12.0916.12.09(twice),24.12.09, after which your customer care executive kept calling, but finally agreed that thery were sorry and would get the connection surrendered.

    We even said that we had 7 other airtel connections, and would cancel all of them if this un-professional attitude continued.

    Shockingly, yesterday we saw a letter from your legal and regulatory department, dated 04.03.10, which was not even served on us but put in our drop box on the sly, asking us to pay up dues of 1094. The letter spoke of blatant disregard on our part and that we have not even surrendered the equipment.

    Dear Bharti, please note that first of all you send bills when the connection is not even in use and you self-cotradict yourself by saying that thje instrument was not surrendered. I guess you will appreciate the fact that someone was supposed to come and take possession which never happened, because you were knowingly trying to thrust the connection back to us.

    Kindly note that this attitude is just not acceptable to us.We will welcome your representative to come and disconnect the said connection preferrably tommorrow.

    Talking cheat with me

    bharti airtel sir/madem,

    last five month ago my landlines no. was disconnected reason no. not use because i m admit in hospital for hard attack peasant and right now i m paid due amount rs.1109/-than he told me your no. is reconnected within 48 hours but i m waiting within 20 day every next day i call them and every time costumer care told me after 48 hours yr connection will be on than today he told me your no. is not connected reason is haven't no.box in your aria so tell me how can i believe on this company, this company make a fool of they public i don't think so this company is run long time in India they talk rubbish and nasty talk with public and the customer care staff the don't know there self what they saying to customer ............
