I, M. Kalyan Chakaravarthy own a Mahindra Renault Logan vehicle which was purchased with Automotive Manufacturers in Panjagutta, Hyderabad in the year 2008 with Registration bearing number AP 28DA 3366, my vehicle met with an accident two months ago while my driver was driving it. The accident took place in a village near Warangal which is about 150 kms from Hyderabad, after the accident we have called the Insurance company (Bajaj Allianz) on their toll free number and informed about the accident and location. Upon their advice we have called the Automotive Manufacturers showroom/workshop in Hyderabad and request for help, your team asked us to bring the vehicle to Hyderabad if it’s in running condition. My driver drove back the car till Warangal which is about 35 km from village and shown it to Automotive Workshop in Warangal who examined the car and said that they can’t handle the repair and advised us to take back the car to Hyderabad. We have asked them if they can arrange for a recovery vehicle to carry the car till Hyderabad since they don’t have one they advised us to drive the car to Hyderabad with a halt for every 10 km and it’s not risky to drive the car. My driver started with the vehicle around 1.30 pm in the afternoon and reached Hyderabad workshop at midnight somewhere around 12.
Since I was busy, after two days when I went to workshop I was told that they need at least three weeks to fix the car. I met Mr.Ankineedu who asked me to fill up the Insurance documents had assured me that they will get the car back in good condition and can give us the final estimate only after they open the car.
I followed up with Mr.Ankineedu after two weeks who told me that it would cost me close to Rs.1,00,000 and in fourth week he confirmed that the cost of repairs had gone up to Rs.1,30,000 which is final and I need to prepare to pay the difference amount for plastics etc. He confirmed the same Rs.1,30,000 when I visited your workshop in the first week of July, 2010 and said that will be final billing . I was taken back with his phone call one day prior to car delivery that the bill is close to Rs.1,80,000 and when I asked him about the sudden increase in bill for about Rs.50,000 he says that they changed some electric part which was damaged because of car was driven back from Warangal to Hyderabad which is not acceptable since the advice to drive back the car was given by the Warangal automotive personnel only and we cannot be charged/blamed for the same.

Apart from this we find it very unprofessional and unethical that the workshop personnel dint give us first hand information on anything, it was we who followed up every week to find the work status they never bothered to inform us the estimate cost. After the car was given in the work shop they called up only once to inform us that final bill was around Rs.1,80,000 before to it whenever we called they gave us the estimations of Rs.1,00,000 and Rs.1,30,000 , we were more surprised that the Insurance company also dint bother to inform us about the final bill and what is there contribution.

If I would have known that the bill would costing me Rs.1,80,000 I would rather sell the car as what is condition and buy a new car which will come for Rs.6,00,000 since my car already crossed 70,000 kms and a two years old one.

How can an Individual plan his finance without giving an estimated quote or a basic idea about the overall costing even after one month, that too with a difference of Rs.50,000 to the quoted one is not acceptable.

After sending a complaint to there head office which is located in Ranigunj they had sent Mr.Seshagiri Rao to my office on 10/08/2010 to discuss the issue. While our discussion, Mr.Seshagiri completely agreed with me that they dint inform on the estimation and they take the primary responsibility and offered me 5% discount on the total billing. I felt that it was completely un justified and said that I had been informed only about Rs.1,30,000 as final bill and cannot go beyond it, after much discussion and his request i had requested for 20% discount on the total billing that if they can promise to deliver the car on 11/08/2010 since i dont have a car and had to plan my trip to bangalore. Even though i'am not supposed to pay any additional amount other than Rs.1,30,000 I had extended Rs.15,000 from my pocket to close the issue ambiguously but they dint come to me till date and i had to rent a travels car for my business trip t bangalore which costed me another Rs.10,000.

I therefore request you to kindly look in to this and do the needful.
