    Default India Today Book Club Refund - issue

    Dear Sir,

    I got a call from INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB REP, stating tempting offer about “blackberry 9000” with Rs 30,000/- worth vouchers from surat diamonds and lots of other goodies.

    On the 4th may I got repeated calls from india today book club rep stating this offer. Since deal was so tempting I made mistake of doing IVR TRANSACTION through my credit card. The amount debited from my credit card was Rs 29,998/- in favor of LIVING MEDIA.

    Booking Id:-440028815 DATED 4 MAY 2010

    Immediately after the transaction I got a call from Sales Rep(Neeraj) stating the Re 1/- got less (instead Rs 29,999/- the debited amount was Rs 29,998) and don’t worry Since he has just asked his seniors there is no such worry about it. I was told that within 5-7 working days , I will receive my order. But days passed away, then weeks and now a month is over.
    I have been calling customer care, but I was not given satisfied answer. I have written to response@indiatodaybookclub.com><fee...aybookclub. com many times just to know that your complaint has been forwarded to concerned department and we are following the matter with them.

    After going through so much pain, I am not looking for any order and I just want my money back so that I
    Can pay credit card due amount on time to avoid any interest charges.

    Tall claims are made during deal but they were not honored. I really feel cheated. Company uses UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES AND LACKS INTEGRITY.

    After this I have made hundreds of calls to India Today Book Club, cust care and keep mailing them to cancel and refund my amount( All e- mails script is below)


    And one odd day (17-july -10)out the blue without any confirmation I got courier from India today invoiced with 3 items that I have never BOOKED

    22 nd july I went to neb sarai new delhi so called india today head office cum godown to return the undesirable courier. They have acknowledged and promise refund within 7 days.
    But till now no confirmation about refund status.

    You just wrote wait for "FEW DAYS". Please note I have been asking for time frame for one valid reason,

    ie I need to pay my credit card bill for this pending amount. I can not say my credit card company to wait FOR FEW DAYS till india today(LIVING MEDIA) gets this matter resolved.

    I kept waited for a month but you are still saying wait FOR FEW MORE DAYS.
    Is there any human being who can read, understand and then resolve this issue, I would be grateful.


    I am really frustrated and now I am bound to take legal action.

    i)Received Item No.P1327 (Philips Micro Theatre)& K0443(Kodac C-180) on 08.07.2010, in lieu of Advance payment for Rs.23698( vide Invoice No. ORA100017753 dated 29.06.2010.Unique No.169083515A100017753 for claiming free gifts as and diamond voucher for Rs.70, 000/- ( No.IB1100930922) against my unique No.as quoted in the subject matter.About 2 months has already been passed till today on 01.09.2010.But Vouchers which was approved on 19.08.2010 not received in my email as spoken with your executive Miss Hina on11.08.2010, 20.08.2010, 24.08.2010, 25.08.2010;Mr Vikram on 23.08.2010, Balkrishna Rao on18.08.2010 and 01.09.2010;Deepak on 27.08.2010 and 31.08.2010;Prashant on 01.09.2010.
    ii)Vide order No.4400341290, booked 22"Samsung LCD Colour TV, by paying Rs.17699/-through HDFC Bank Credit Card, To cancel the order due to domestic reasons beyond control, and it was requested to credit Rs.17699/-against HDFC Credit Card Account immediately.The Order was cancelled on 23.07.2010 But till date Rs.17699 not credited in my account.and every time above executive give misleading information.
    iii)Holiday package for Rs.7000/-order No.440032613 cancelled due to domestic reasons, cancellation order No.594394, but till date Rs.7000/-not credited in my HDFC Credit Card account.executive when contacted give misleading information.
    All the above cases are worst examples of frauds commited by executives of India today Group.
    Once again I the undernamed request for immediate action from your end please to avoid further legal action.
