I applied for 0.25 acre plot at Max PADLI. All payments have been made way back in 1996 but the company has closed its offices and till date no land has been regd . A meeting was convened as per Hon'l High Court order in CA no : 1621/2006 at SHRIVAARU, VENKATACHALPATHY PALACE VANAGARAMAMBATTUR ROAD, CHENNAI ON 22nd November, 2006 for redressal of the customers cheated by the company, but nothing whatsoever has ever been advised till date.Will the authorities be kind enough to arrange for registration of land in customers name.

It is also noted from INDIA TODAY 2ND MAY EDITION that 5 acres of Roorkee land was sold to MR SHANTI BHUSHAN , Sr Advocate of LOKPAL BILL FAME.

I had invested in three plots of one acre each with Maxworth orchards India Ltd, Chennai. While for two plots I had received registration documents, one plot I got only the receipt for the amount paid.All the amounts were paid from my NRE account. Currently I have settled down in Bangalore. All my past efforts to contact this company was in vain. Could someone help me? I am a senior citizen and I had invested in these plots thinking about my retirement. Now everything is vanished.The company has taken all my money and disappeared. Pls help if you can atleast to get back the money invested.

I .had invested a sum of Rs. 17000/= (Rs.SEVENTEEN THOUSAND ONLY) in the
year 1994-1996 with Maxworth Orchards (India) Ltd. Chennai.This firm has cheated me,
as inspite of getting a piece of land being registered in my name with Joint Sub Registerar-II,
Tirunelveli, they rejected that site. This clearly amounts to fraud.
I requested this firm to return my amount vide my letter dated 10 November 1998 to which
they replied vide their letter dated 3-12-98 that the amount can not be refunded due to
Liquidity Crunch prevailing at that time. This request of refund was repeated and reminded
from time to time , but the firm has not paid the amount tilldate.

May we request the CONSUMER FORUM to take up the case appropriately so that we get back
our hard earned money back with interest. My customer code with the company is : CBE 305

We are one of the many unfortunate investors swindled by this company in a Melnalli mango project.

Every mango season in particular, Maxworth is remembered for having been maximally unworthy of trust.

This was a massive scam in terms of proportion by a non-politician in those times. Other than serving as a case study in mega-investment scams for students, nothing constructive seems to have been made out of the company or the case in the legal system. Despite the fact that the speed of a legal process in India is a universal joke, I appeal to the powers that be to bring the people behind this to justice at least in their lifetime if not the culprits'.

Looking forward to a settlement at least this mango-less year.

Like many of you posted in this forum, I have also invested in MAXWORTH ORCHANDS in the year 1995/96. I have invested in Tiruchuli project near Madurai, TN and Yacharam project near Hyderabad, AP. It is indeed sad that many people lost lot of hard earned money by investing in this fraudulent company. Had we invested this money elsewhere, we would have made anywhere between 20 - 100 times the money invested in this company.

Recently with the help my friend who lives in Chennai, I found the following details about this company.

MAXWORTH ORTHANDS office is still there at the following address and it is under the control of the Administrator, Mr. K ALAGIRI SWAMI, Advocate appointed by the High court and the staff there is verifying the details of the investors as recorded in their data base. Mr. Alagiriswami sits in the High court and his assistants only correspond to the visitors.

When asked about selling these lands Mr Alagiri Swami’s assistant said that most of these projects are under court action and it can’t be sold now until the verdict is pronounced by the court. It is going on for long time and nobody knows how long the court takes give the verdict.

NOW THAT IT IS IN THE COURT’S JURISTICTION, ALL WE CAN DO IS TO PRESSURE THE PEOPLE INVOLVED AND TRY GETTING EARLY VERDICT. I WOULD ADVICE ALL THE INVESTERS TO WRITE TO THEM AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS, EMAIL THEM OR CALL THEM. THERE IS A GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT THESE PEOPLE MAY NOT RESPOND. SO IF YOU CAN, IT IS ALWAYS GOOD IF CAN PERSONNELLY VISIT THIS PLACE.

I REALLY HOPE THAT THE CONSUMER COURT WILL MAKE A REPRESENTATION TO THE HIGH COURT, CHENNAI ON BEHELF OF ALL THE INVESTERS AND PERSUE IT TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AT THE EARIEST POSSIBLE. AND I HOPE CONSUMER COURT KNOWS THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE (MAY BE LAKHS) INVESTED IN THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY.
