    Default Tata aig policy

    I was contacted by Image Insurance brokers pvt. Ltd. on behalf of Tata AIG {which I got to know later, (the Broker bit)}. At the time of filling up the necessary paper work on 16/10/10, I was apprised by Ms.Aanchal (I guess the branch manager & one Gaurav, who had come down to my office to get the papers filled) that I would be getting a gift after my check is realized. I was also told clearly that this gift thing will be from Image Insurance & not in any way from Tata AIG. I was also told that the gifts would range from Microwave, Food processor to one more thing about which I don’t remember. At this I had told them that since I already have all those things, will it be possible for them to consider a hot water geyser. At this, I was told that they’ll have to speak to their superiors & they’ll revert back to me soon.

    At the same time I was told that I’ll be getting a call from Tata AIG, asking me if I was apprised about the benefits of the plan & also if I have been promised some gift in return, to which I have to tell the company that “Yes, I have been told about the plan but No gift has been promised to me & this is exactly what I said when I got a call from the company checking about all these things!

    After some days had gone by & when there was no trace of the promised gift, I called up Ms. Aanchal, at which she sought some more time in order to get the thing I wanted, approved & that she’ll call me in the evening the same day. After 1 week, when still nothing had happened & I wasn’t called, I called up Aanchal again & once again she sought more time from me & promised to call herself, but only to remain incommunicado after this call as after this last interaction, I could never speak to her again as her cell started coming as switched off till date & I have no one to speak to from Image Insurance & am forced to write in to you in order to let you know the games that brokers play with customers.
    Though I did get reply from Tata AIG, but all they talked about was the givt. ploicy which clearly Tata's brokers are flouting.I am attaching the Tata reply underneath :-

    This is with reference to you email dated November 25, 2010 and subsequent conversation with the undersigned regarding the aforesaid policy.



    We would like to reiterate that under provision of law giving and acceptance of rebates is prohibited. With regard to the issue raised by you, we wish to bring to your notice the provisions of section 41 of the Insurance Act, 1938. The relevant portion of the section is reproduced here for your ready reference.



    “No Person shall allow or offer to allow, either directly or indirectly, as an inducement to any person to take out or renew or continue an insurance in respect of any kind of the risk relating to lives or property in India, any rebate of the whole or part of the commission payable or any rebate of the premium shown on the policy, nor shall any person taking out or renewing or continuing a policy accept any rebate, except such rebate as may be allowed in accordance with the published prospectus or tables of the insurer.”

    Default Sickness Clain #000431755 Policy # OHHCP00000022 MR. SAJJAD A kANCHWALA

    Dear Sir, I was Hospitalized between 27Nov 2010 To 1Dec. 2010, For Ihd, CCf, COPD. First time I was Hospitalized for this deseas. While taking discharge by mistake hospital doctor mention on discharge card that i was A Known case of COPD, IHD, CCF. Miss Sunita from your Claim depertment had spoke ot the doctor in charge he excepted that by mistake it was return that i am the known case of copd etc. & as per miss sunita he issued new discharge card. the have given the letter to on dated 11.1.11. In this letter he has admited the mistake we have submitted this letter too. still your claim officer Mr. Milind Ambre sent us the denied letter. on 28.01.2011. We again went to the Doctor Mr. Khalid Ansare & asked him that he had also issued the letter saying the same thing that i am the Known case of Copd etc. He denied tha he had not issued such letter to Your claim officer Mr Milind. And he issued us a letter clearing your doubt and he had clearly return that i was hospitalized for completely new problemon dated 2.2.11. Still your Claim department is Dening on the same ground that i am a known case & asking me to provide Past medical record. I don"t have any Past medical reccord. Please look in to this matter.
