IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE), a non-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals, Tuesday named H.R. Srinivasan, founder of TAKE Solutions, to head its Chennai chapter.

Srinivasan will give strategic direction towards enhancing the entrepreneurial climate in Chennai for the organisation that has its centres in 42 cities based in nine countries around the world, according to a TiE statement.

"TiE helps budding entrepreneurs through programmes that cover networking, mentoring and education. We are confident that Srinivasan will provide the leadership to support the TiE cause of helping budding entrepreneurs scale up and succeed," TiE Asia director Prajakt Raut said.

Srinivasan, a seasoned entrepreneur with two decades of experience in the logistics and supply chain management industry, welcomed the appointment.

"I look forward to building the TiE culture and philosophy of economic value creation while nurturing a healthy ecosystem of entrepreneurship in this dynamic region," he said.

The Chennai chapter of TiE, an organisation founded in the Silicon Valley in California, was established in 2000.

The Chennai chapter is its 13th in India after Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kerala, Kolkata, Kanpur, Jaipur, Mumbai, Patna and Pune.
