Infosys Technologies Ltd Friday announced a special silver jubilee dividend of Rs.30 per share, which is a whopping 600 percent on par value of Rs.5 per share.

In a notification to the stock exchanges here, the company said its board of directors had recommended the special dividend for all its shareholders to mark the completion of the company's 25 years of existence. The payout will be Rs.8.27 billion ($183 million).

As part of its annual dividend for the fiscal year 2005-06, the company's board also recommended a final dividend of Rs.8.50 per share, which is equivalent to 170 percent on par value of Rs.5 per share. The payout will be Rs.2.34 billion.

For the first half of fiscal 2006, the company declared an interim dividend of Rs.6.50 per share or 130 percent on par value of Rs.5 per share, amounting to Rs.1.77 billion.

As a result, the total dividend recommended for the entire fiscal amounts to Rs.45 per share or 900 percent on par value of Rs.5 per share, with a total payout of Rs.12.38 billion.
