    Default Fuel price hike

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Friday urged the government not to hike fuel prices and to consider other options to neutralise a surge in global oil prices.

The CPI-M, which leads the Left front that props up the government from outside, denied media reports that the Communists were open to revision of diesel and petrol prices.

"The politburo of the CPI-M reiterates that the reported price hike in petrol and diesel is avoidable as elucidated in the note submitted to the petroleum ministry," said a statement from the politburo, the party's highest decision-making body.

The statement pointed out that during a meeting with Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyer, the Left parties had suggested various options to neutralise the steep hike in global oil prices.

The options included cancelling a proposed cess of 50 paise a litre for highways development, change in the excise duty so that it does not lead to a retail price hike and doing away with import parity in product price.

The Left leaders asked the government to set up a price stabilisation fund to take care of the fluctuation of global crude prices by using the cess collected on indigenous crude, which amounts to Rs.54 billion a year.

They also urged the government to review the duty drawback payment to exporters of petroleum products by private refineries.

Pointing out that these suggestions were made to both ministers Monday, the politburo said: "In the light of these discussions, the government should not consider any price hike in petroleum products at present."

Some media reports have suggested that the petroleum ministry had conveyed to the Prime Minister's Office that the Communists had understood the need for a revision of fuel prices and were open to diesel and petrol prices being in parity with global crude prices.

Default petroleum and milk product hike

It is a matter of great concern that price of above products is raised every now and then.I strongly oppose this because this has shattered my buget. what will a general worker will do if we are finding difficult to manage. Even price of Milk is raised every year.We should find a measure to curb this .

the government and its machinery are corrupt to a certain extent. but in the case of petroleum rates the government as disintegrated the petrol policy .The present days international barrel rate is 124 per barrel .even after raising the rates of petrol by Rs.5 THERE IS A LOSS OF Rs. 5 still. So its a part of life. We are living the the world where everything is becoming expensive and is a reality. However it is futile effort and politicising the matter by having a bundh or dharna that stops the countries financial machinery stop for a day or two causing further loss to economy.

Also there is a very interesting trend in India.
When the 26/11 attacks took place in mumbai people came out to streets in large numbers holding out candles and making statements and agendas and promises. In days that followed the emotions died down and life is as normal is it was.
Similarly after almost 3 and half years recently we saw the anna hazare cry.
then again a commission was set up ., news went on for few days and faded from the limelight and the breaking news turned to be forgotten news. THIS IS INDIA FOR YOU.

PETROL ISNT THE ISSUE TODAY AS THE INCREASE IS JUSTIFIED ON INTERNATIONAL BARREL COSTS.

IF WE ARE PAYING TAXES WHICH GOES TO FILL POCKETS OF POLITICIANS - LETS CUT DOWN ON TAXES.
TAX IS : income - expenditure is taxable .
so lets earn , spend and then the rest pay tax. IF this cash quadrant proportion is calculated well.,
at the end of the day a man ends up paying no tax. Instead he spends his taxable income on purchases for household products to petrol for a sweet drive down the country side., enjoy a vacation and back to work again.
A happy family as a whole.
SO WHY WORRY ABOUT PETROL . ENJOY LIFE . BE HAPPY .
