    A 100-hour shutdown called by the All Assam Students Union (AASU) has severely hit production by the state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in the state.

    ONGC produces about 1.55 million tonnes of oil and 467 million cubic metres of gas in Assam.

    "Due to the shutdown, ONGC has been forced to close the producing wells in all its fields in Assam starting 5 a.m. May 16," the exploration major said in a statement here Tuesday.

    ONGC accounts for around 80 percent of indigenous production.

    The fields badly affected are Geleki, Lakwa, Rudrasagar where the shift crews were not permitted to go and operating crews were forcibly asked to shut down operation and move out.

    The local authorities have expressed their inability to intervene for fear of confrontation, the ONGC stated.

    Following the stoppage in gas production, industries depending on it for fuel supplies are also facing production disruption.

    ONGC fears that the disruption in production activities may adversely impact plans to revive output from ageing wells.

    Recently, ONGC had unveiled a plan to revive and rejuvenate its assets in Assam entailing an investment of Rs.20 billion over four years beginning 2005.

    Unhappy Complaint against first source solutions ltd

    To the advisor of AASU

    Dear Sir,

    I want to share a feedback with u actualy i m a assam guy i was working in siliguri in a call centre company name is (FIRST SOURCE SOLUTIONS LTD),i was working here for VODAFONE Assam and NE process. I just want to inform you that please check in siliguri how the company is treating with us.The localities are behaving very badly with us,they are behaving with us like we are the dogs from Assam,and if we protest this than they hit our Assam guys saying that being a assam guy we cant say anything and we have to face this things if we wnt to stay here.There are copule of casess also few month back when the localities had bitten our guys and when we inform the company they said that this is all our fault.As per the company management we have to stay here like this nd we have to obey this things because this is nt GUWAHATI. According to the localities we are the terrorist from assam.The local young guys teasing our assam girls when they go to office
    at early morning and the evening time when they are outside from their rooms to have some tiffin.


    Sir as per the company we have to follow all their faque rules,otherwise they will through us out.There are some TL's there names are (Amit Roy,Raja Deb) and also the manager (Debojyoti Ghosh Roy).They treat with our assam guys like we are their servent nd we cant say anything.Sir Amit Roy and Raja Deb behave with us so badly that i cant express u.We are here like prisoners.We are in a situation that we cant leave the job and we cant stay here also.Sir i had alredy leave the job for this things but still there are our brother and sisters who are facing this problem but they cant leave now,and if someone want to give resignation than company dosent except that saying you have to work here and we pepole are bound to work here as because if we leave the job without any information we will nt get our experience letter.


    Sir i cant provide my name please dont investigate for my identity this is my humble request to you.We need your help sir we are in a big problem please help us please visit here at siliguri and ask the assam boys and girls nd please do someting fr us we are helpless.And this is our request to take the process to assam please consult with vodafone for this and talk with our company Centre head R.L.Narayanan.This is a request from all the assam boys and girls please take the process to assam.Thats the feedback which i want to sare with you i know that only u and news live can help us so i hav forwarded the same mail to news live plz do something soon.
