The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL), which was forced to shut down some of its units due to shortage of water, has started normal production.

"Due to insufficient availability of raw water at the refinery, MRPL was forced to temporarily shut down some of the units in Phase-I of the refinery from April 14", the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) said in a statement Tuesday.

It said production had resumed Thursday at the refinery that has an annual refining capacity of 3.69 million tonnes.
