Hi,
I am a once unfortunate user of Airtel broadband with no 080-42141685. I was new to Bangalore and wanted a internet connection urgently. The person who i contacted, was quick to reach my place and told me that I would be getting the connection on the same day... He asked me to take a pre-paid 3 months plan for Rs. 2697 and I wont have to pay a single penny more for 3 months. But i dint get the connection on the same day. In fact after 3 days when the who was supposed to give the connection came in he told that there are feasibility issues and so the connection would be delayed.
Finally after so much calls, I got the connection after paying Rs, 800+ for modem and the some installation charges. After the first month, I am told that I have to pay extra 100Rs as tax every month. When I refuted, my connection was disconnected. I had to pay to get my connection back. Later again my connection was disconnected on the third month...At this point i called up the customer care officer and had quite a talk. I told that I dont intend to continue with Airtel, so please cancel the connection as soon as the period for which i paid is over.
I left the place after the 3rd month was over and moved to another apartment. When I left i took the telephone device and the modem and flung the cables out of the window... Later on the next month, somebody from airtel called up saying that that data usage is nil. I explained the scenario and then told to disconnect it from their end as well.
However, I kept getting calls asking me to pay bills. Each time I had to explain and the person would assure me that I would not get further calls. This continued for 3-4 months and then finally someone called asking if i wanted to transfer the connection, I told that I am not interested as I would not be staying for long and the case was closed at least that is what I was told.
Now after almost a year of taking the connection, I am told that I have a pending amount of around Rs. 4000 and if I fail to pay this legal proceedings would be initiated. All this happened after I stopped using the airtel post paid mobile connection. What a way of harassing users who opt to move away from Airtel.
I dont know whether I would get a just resolution but for sure I am not going to be a ambassador for Airtel.
Regards,
Edwin
