Post fraud transaction through ICICI BANK intenet Banking

Hi, This is RAMKUMAR @ chennai. on 08/03/2010 Rs.4000 has been transfered from my A/C for online mobile recharge for 4 different numbers without my knowledge.

I have registered a complaint through icici customer care reg that and i met Branch operation manager also. They said that a separate team from icici tracking on how it happened and it maybe an internal technical problem within icici. They mentioned that they cant do anything reg that issue and asked cus care further to know the status.

I dont know how these transaction r done without my userID, Login Password, Transaction Password and ATM CARD grid numbers.

Default This happened to me too!

I have the exact same complaint as Ramkumar. I too am from Chennai and on 1st and 2nd of January 2011, 6 unauthorised mobile recharges of Rs 500 each were made through my icici online banking. The strange thing is that I am extremely careful and very tech saavy and there is no possibility that I have shared my password or used it in a public place.

The Risk Control Unit of ICICI originally alerted me regarding these transactions and advised me to block my card and my User ID (I did not even have any knowledge of these transactions). And since each transaction is for less than Rs. 2000, I did not get any mobile alert too. I spoke to ICICI atleast 5 times over the last one month but they told me very clearly that it was entirely my fault as it was related to internet banking and that they would not acknowledge the fault or return my money.

My service request no. is SR 165091680.

I then started searching the net and found so many others with similar issue. I am not allowed to post URLs here but please search google for "ICICI Bank mobile prepaid recharge fraud" and you'll find the links in sites like consumercomplaints.in and complaints-india.com.

I hope all these posts will make ICICI wake up and realise that someone is compromising the online banking system. Next time someone else has a similar issue, please refer all our SR numbers so that ICICI will understand that this is not a case of an individual being careless, but rather a very clever and systematic fraud.

Netbanking is a sector which is always at a high risk of getting hacked by the hackers who are always looking for some huge transaction and take use of them.

Default fraud transaction through ICICI BANK intenet Banking

Exactly same thing happened to me and two times. First with my credit card and I had to fight hard with ICICI bank people for getting it disputed. Yesterday, I got it happened with my debit card. Fortunately, I check my account too often and caught it asap. I'll be trying for dispute again but I'm now getting discouraged to use internet banking in future,
