Default EMI Conversion not done, struggling to pay the Credit Card Amount

    Dear Sir/madam,

I have purchased 2 Nos of same product(12pcs Kitchen Canister Set) in gift 360. Which was ordered through my mobile referring the Gift 360 catalogue which was sent through courier to my house.

    12pcs Kitchen Canister Set
    Rs. 1296
    6 EMI - Rs.216
    Order placed on 24/09/2009

    12pcs Kitchen Canister Set
    Rs. 1296
    6 EMI - Rs.216
    Order placed on 24/09/2009

As I have mentioned above, it was clearly mentioned that the Actual amount will be converted to 6 EMI Interest Free.

They took my orders on 24th September 2009. They asked my Credit Card Number and the Which Bank Card was it and What type of Card?

I have given the details as Iam using ICICI Credit Card VISA type and my Credit Card Number.

They said it will automatically converted to EMI and I will receive the same in my next Credit Card statement.

I received my Credit Card statement, stating they have debit the full cost for the 2 products (i.e) Rs.1296 * 2

I called back immediately to Gift360 and asked for clarification. They said that they have not charged the full amount its been blocked and I was asked to contact my ICICI Bank and clarify.

I have also sent a mail to escalation department in Gift360 and they have replied with some code numbers for placing my order in the Bank.
    The mail as follows

    Dear sir,

    Thank you for mailing us,

This is to inform you that the amount in your credit card is not fully charged but the amount is BLOCKED and charged in EMI only.

In this case if you need the confirmation you can please give the below mentioned approval code numbers to the bank and ask if the amount is fully charged or on emi.

I called ICICI bank and asked with the details provided in mail. They have strictly told that they dont have any EMI option for Gift360 and Gift360 is giving a fault comittment and doing some fraud.

After that I have been calling Gift360 for the past 10 days. Till today I didnt get any clarification on that. They are wantedly disconnecting my calls and If I call the Toll free number and ask they are telling that they will transfer to the concern department and after the sometime the calls gets disconnected.

Today a person named Sayeeda Parveez from Gift360 called me and told that the catalogue which I referred and placed my order in EMI was for CITI Bank and not for ICICI Bank.

As I have mentioned above they asked all my Card details and placed the order. At the time they didnt inform that its only for CITI Bank.

In spite of telling the whole story they want me to go and beg ICICI Bank for EMI conversion. Why should I ask the BANK, I didnt placed order for the Bank. I have placed order for Gift360 and they have mentioned clearly in their catalogue for 6EMI Interest Free.

They are keen in placing order but not in customer satisfaction.

My Credit Card statement due date is on 16/10/2009. Iam not in a position to pay the full amount. if I am not paying that ICICI bank will charge for penalty and late fee.

kindly take this issue in priority and provide me a solution to pay my credit card amount.

    Hi Benon,

I would like to inform you that any purchase thru ICICI bank Credit Card can be converted to EMI only if the whole transaction at once is of more than Rs.2000/- and that too if you contact the customer care within 21 days of purchase or before generation of your next CC Statement whichever comes first.

As per your said conversation you have two approval code numbers and thus the transaction was done two times and everytime less than Rs.2000/-.

First of all before making any such transaction you must have asked ICICI CC department about the same.
And if you were not in the position of asking them you must have confirmed with the terms and conditions of Gifts360.com.

Regarding this Case ICICI bank will not be liable for any compensations becoz they have clearly mentioned this several times that only purchase of more than Rs. 2000/- at once can be converted into EMI.

In this case you can ask gifts360 department to compensate your loss bcoz of misguidance regarding the information from their Staff department.

First of all when they were doing the transaction they must have done it whole in one time i.e. Rs. 1296*2 at once.
In that condition you must have to call the ICICI customer care to convert your purchase in EMI.

But due to their misguidance and carelessness you are suffering.
Ask them that if they did not compensate then you will file the case against them.
Or do whatever moderators of this forum suggests.

I am not in favour of ICICI or any other bank but I am just telling this for the Sake of Information.
