Sir,
I am a serving Indian Air Force Pilot. As per my policy I was told by the agent was that I would be getting a cheque of 20,000/- after completion of first five years. This Mrch 11, after completion of first five years I was supposed to get a cheqe of 20,000/-. Last seven I kept enquiring about the status of my cheque. The agent kept me telling that the cheque would come by post on the stated address in the application form.
This Oct I again enquired about the status of my cheque, then he informed me that the cheque could not be sent by post, the area officer had kept the cheque with him since last six minths. So the cheque could not be handed over to me. Now the cheque has crossed six months duration, and it has become invalid.
I asked my agent ways to get the money/cheque. He is saying I have to write an application for a fresh issue of cheque against me.
My question is:-
(a) Its whose responsibility to ensure that the cheque has been despatched to the consumer. I think its surely not the client.
(b) It should have been informed to me by the email in advance, which have been mentioned in the application form when I bought htis policy.
(b) Now the cheque has become invalid why should I bother to get the money. Just because the cheque is in favour of me & I am going to use that money. If that is so every thing is to be done by the client only then why LIC is so many of agents, so called area officers.
(c) Somebody somewhere in LIC is not doing his job and I as a client have to worry because thats my policy even premium has been deposited on time.
(d) Pls do inform me through e-mail ranvir777rkt@gmail.com or ram_ranvir@yahoo.co.in
(e) Also tell me if it would be correct to go to court if yes then how do I go ahead.
