Dear All,*
We, people of India, trust that TATA AIG is a world renowned company and
committed to serve Indian people with best of their products and services by
adopting fair and ethical approach.
However, this trust of mine is now just a perception and not a fact!!!
I was not aware that TATA AIG is also involved in cheating by telling and
committing some information over the phone and at the same time denying the
same later.

It seems that to gain and to meet its target, TATA AIG in india has crossed
all the limits and have adopted meaning of frauds to attract the customer.
This is regarding the two Health care plus policies HCP25000015552 and
HCP25000015553, these policies were expiring on Aug 9th 2009. So I started
getting renewal reminder calls from the renewal desk, but since I was not
very eager to continue with these policies I refused to renew it. Here the
renewal guys kept on calling me and tried to convince me to continue with
the policy offering a lower premium and some other perks like house
insurance policy which I didn't wanted, saying customer relationship matters
for them.
So after bugging with n number of calls which was very frustrating I finally
agreed to renew the policy with the lower premium which was around 7000
something for both the policies, on Aug 11th. The confirmation call was made
when I was very busy with my work so I just hurried through the call giving
the Credit card details assuming that the confirmation was taken as per the
agreed premium with the renewal desk.
Later I was told the confirmation was taken for the original premium which
was 13000 for both the policies and not the lower one as agreed.
When I learnt that they were offering the lower premium by reducing the
Policy Level, I completely disagreed with this offer an refused it since I
thought they are giving me the same policy with the same level, for this
they ended the call saying the policy document will be sent to your address,
since they already got my confirmation for the earlier call made.
Now when I got back to the customer service they directed me to the
cancellation department, Here I explained to them what has happened and they
had taken my request and assured to give me a call in 24/48 hrs which never
came. The Request number was *816808* taken on 21st Aug. I again called back
10 days later asking for an update and I was told that either I can cancel
the policy and 25% will be deducted or keep the policy. I requested the
person to check with the renewal department for what was agreed and what was
executed, he simply refused to do so.
To add to my frustration he also mentioned that the Policy premium cannot be
lowered and I will need to take a new policy for the said lower premium.
I again kept on requesting him to go and ask the renewal department or check
the conversation recordings for the same, but I was only give the option to
cancel or keep the policy.
*Now what I want is cancel the policy without any deductions, since this was
a mistake from your end.*
Now this is how the functioning of TATA AIG works where there is
miscommunication between the renewal and the confirmation department and
then there is this cancellation department who does not agree with the
commitments of the renewal desk.
