hosting company destroyed my content - can i sue?

    Default hosting company destroyed my content - can i sue?

    My hosting company changed their server technology and in the process forgot to think that some of their customers might use other languages than english. Hundreds of pages of written content in Thai were destroyed and turned into question marks!
    Can i sue them or get compensation?
    Im not in india and also dont host with indian company, but i dont know where else to ask, so if anyone could help me i would be very grateful for any info they could give me
