It was 4th Jan.2012 when we approached Dr. Sumita Sofat at SOFAT INFERTILITY & WOMEN CARE CENTRE who claims herself the employee of a Private Limited Company named SOFAT DIAGNOSTICS & CANCER DETECTION CENTRE PVT. LTD. Address : 39,Rose Enclave, Near Main Gate Rose Garden, Govt. College Road, Ludhiana, Punjab. On that day she had taken Rs.500 as consultation fees. During consultation we were told for some tests at this clinic only for which she charged Rs.5500 from us. After some time on same day she told us to deposit Rs.10000 for the treatment. We deposited the same and then after a minor examination she told to come after 15 days. Then we were made to sign on a blank format wherein non-refund clause was there. No receipt for any payment made to her was issued to us. When we asked for test reports and payment receipts she told that to collect the same at next visit after 15 days. Though we found ourself going to fall into a trap but left with no option but to believe in her words.
On 19th Jan.2012 when we went there they asked for consulation fees of Rs.500/- and we denied the same on the ground we were under the full treatment package of Rs.75000/- and they cannot charge any addition amounts now. Temporarily they allowed us to meet the doctor Sumita Sofat but when we were in her cabin she started with no word but the money only. We told that we are going to deposit but before that please issue us last payment receipts and our test reports which was our right even. These words were like a big injury to her she started shouting on us like ……………..She cried on us saying we are not going to issue any receipts for any payment from you and the reason she told that our accountant has old us not to issue the receipts to avoid the tax. These were the clear words of her and I was shocked to see her arrogant behavior and denying payment receipts to evade the tax. Also she denied to treat us if we will ask for the receipts. After wasting very much time at her place and requesting her again and again we were able to get the test reports(normal reports without any laboratory mark which do not worth Rs.5500 she charged from us.) and receipts of Rs.500 of consultation fees(04.01.2012) and Rs.5500 for Test reports(04.01.2012). But she did not issued any receipt for Rs.10000/-(04.01.2012). On asking the reason she as usual started crying (Recorder available with me this time) and made following different invalid excuses.
Excuses: (Recordings Available)
1. Why we pay the tax twice. (She evades the service tax )
2. We do not get any credit of tax from Govt. then why should we pay tax. (Tax Evasion)
3. We deal with atleast 100 patients like you daily, but nobody demands any receipt and argue.
4. Our account system do not allow to issue receipts for such payments.
5. We are making accounts on true basis and under the company SOFAT DIAGNOSTICS & CANCER DETECTION CENTRE PVT. LTD. So logically we can not issue any receipt of payment receipt from you. (What a great Logic we do not understand till now.)
My Request : Please help me to get the justice against mental agony and financial loss. A lesson should be taught to such ill-mannered professionals/persons who have a big loot on the poors and filling up their pockets without any payment of tax even. Further I request that she should be inquired by the tax departments personally because she is indulged in big tax evasion. May be she is having links with the higher authorities but I believe that I will definitely get the justice if present anywhere.
