Subject : Our traumatic experience/Complaint after my Father’s admission to Apollo , who is suffering from CANCER and STROKE

I would like to highlight few facts, I faced in Twenty One days of hospitalization at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. This created a huge mental and financial trauma to me and my family, who is already suffering with harsh reality of fighting Cancer for last four years.
I admitted my father on 30th June with immense hope and belief to get him treated at Apollo for his recent stroke symptoms and relapsed Cancer status.
Prior to admission on 30th June , patient was able to do the following
(1) Eat himself with very low appetite (2) Sit on chair wit help for 10-15 mins (3) Calling for nature’s call, but doing with attenders help. (4) Maintaining normal BP and sugar, monitored regularly by local physician. (5) No history of any BP/Sugar fluctuation. Non-Diebetic and Non-BP patient. But not sure , if patient can do any of the above after mismanaged treatment and ignorance done during the hospitalization.
We admitted him to treat the following along with the “CASHLESS INSURANCE COVER”
(1) Speech Problem (2) Unable to sit on his own (3) Relapsed Multiple Myeloma status.
With all the facts above, I was surprised , Why patient was admitted to ICU, if patient was stable on admission . I keep on telling that Patient was not at all comfortable inside ICU and going into depression. Then I was told , Patient will be out of ICU in 2-3 days. Not sure, if it was done because of his Insurance Cover status. After three days of stay at ICU on 4th July , patient was severely infected with bacteria “ACINETOBACTER”, which mostly happen in ICU environment inside hospital. From 4th July treatment direction was drastically changed and worsens the patient sufferings. Within couple of days, all my available monetary resources to treat Cancer and Stroke was exhausted without even starting the actual treatment. Bill already shooted up to 3.8 Lakhs.
At present, financially I am not in position to treat my father for Cancer. My insurance cover is denied based on the line of treatment at Apollo. I had to clear all the bills on top of initial approved value of 1.8 Lakh from amount collected through DEBT. I am helpless now. On Doctors advice to keep the patient in Home Care, my father was discharged on 21st day in completely unstable condition.
Open Queries are :
  1. Why this in-human treatment done with my father at Apollo Kolkata just to make few lakhs of money. This is completely un-ethical behavior shown by the Apollo Hospital.
  2. If my insurance cover was rejected based on the line of treatment, and billing crossed over allocated budget of 1.8 Lakh. Why I was not briefed with the line of treatment and alternative options out of Apollo. Instead of putting me in DEBT.
  3. Attaching the few of the irrational billings done by Apollo Pharmacy and Lab Investigation .
I need response from Apollo Management on these. And expecting return of qualified amount back to me so that I can proceed on further treatment on CANCER for my father.
So far no one has responded me from Hospital . It's a complete crime they are doing now.
