    Default Complaint regarding negligence in treatment by Apollo Hospital, New Delhi

    I would like to inform you that I have admitted my mother Mrs Shanti Devi in Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi on 08.12.2010 for removal of stone from Gall Bladder by Laparoscopic surgery under Dr. Ajay Kumar. Dr Ajay Kumar advised us to admit for 3-4 days to complete the treatment and estimate for complete treatment was given approx. Rs.60000/- to Rs.65000/-. They have carried out the required tests and done ERCP on 08.12.2010. In the evening Dr. Ajay Kumar told us they he has tried to remove the stone by this procedure but he could not remove due biger size of stone and advised to remove by laparoscopic surgery. By that that time no other illness to the payment except stone in Gall Bladder. He has engaged Dr. Ajay Kriplani for laparoscopic surgery. on 10.12.2010 Dr. Ajay Kumar removed the stone and gall bladder and shifted the patient in ward. After surgery we have observed abnormal condition of patient such as pain and flow of blood/Bile from the place of surgery but even after our repeated request they has ignored and assured us that patient will recover soon. On 16.12.2010 when we see the criticality of patient as all blood was drain out from body of patient due to continuous flow we have requested doctor to see the patient then Dr. recommended for blood. When they started blood, same is coming out from the body through the place of surgery. Again we have requested the doctor to see the patient, he told us not to worry she will recover soon. They have used 5 unit of blood. On 17.12.2010 apart from the place of surgery blood came out from the mouth and at that time patient was in very critical condition. Immediately we have called the doctor and a team of doctors came controlled the situation by removing the extra blood stored on body. Then they have done the CT scan and found that two vessels are damaged in the place of surgery . After CT Scan they have decided for Angiography. On 18.12.2010 Dr Harsh Rastogi done the Angiography and repair/blocked one damaged vessels/Artery by abdominal Angio & Embolization. After that blood is stopped from the place of surgery but bile is continue. They have discharge the patient on 29.12.2010 at that time condition is not good and bile is coming out from the place of surgery. They advised us that after 3-4 days it will be OK. But even after 27 days of surgery patient is not normal and bile is coming continuously. Now god knows the condition of patient.

    Such as reputed Apollo Hospital giving is poor treatment to patient and due to negligence of doctor patient is suffering a lot and also they have raised bill for Rs.4.55 Lakhs against estimate of Rs.60000/- ti 65000/- for complete treatment. If Apollo Hospital doing negligence in treatment and not caring the patient then whom public will believe. Apollo is more interesting in making money and so careless about the treatment of patient.

    I humble Request to take necessary action against Hospital authority for this negligence for which patient is suffering and charging more then 7 times of their estimate for treatment also keeping the patient for 22 days for general surgery of stone removal from gall bladder. Out whole family is disturbed due to negligence of doctors of Apollo.

    Hope we will get justice.
