ING Vysya Bank Charging Foreclosure for Floating Rate Loan - Violating RBI guidelines Dear Sir.
I had taken a home loan from ING Vysya Bank home loan account no : HL 550383232 , where they had offered me the loan for a fixed rate for two years and floating rate of intrest there after. My loan is in floating rate of interest currently and as per RBI guideline i am allowed to foreclose the loan without paying foreclosure charges.
The Branch manager of ING Vysya Bank , claims to be following NHB guidelines (which are meant for HFC's only ). How is a Bank not follwoing RBI guidelines ?? They claim to have informed RBI about this practice and continue to levy foreclosure charges on floating rate of interest loans like mine. This is a fraudulent practice, pls take action.
Request you to help me in understanding if banks follow RBI or NHB guidelines and in my case do i need to pay foreclosure or not. Requesting a reply fast as i am paying heavy floating interest of 12.5% when other banks are charging 10.5 %.
As a common citizen of india who aspires to have a home here , i request your intervention in the favor of the public.
RBI , Consumers pls raise your voice against this practice.
Rgds,
Ajay Venkatesh

Hi ,
I too have a home loan with ING VYSYA bank; my account number is HL 5500384877 with the same terms and conditions of fixed interest rate for 2 yrs and floating point interest from 3rd year. I am currently in the 3rd year of my loan and with a floating interest rate of 12.5%.
I wrote to them about the RBI guidelines dated 5th June 2012 for waive off of prepayment and foreclosure charges and they have also given me the same standard response of complying to NHB guidelines and about having informed RBI about it.
I have written to their customer complain cell and customer support stating to provide me the copy of RBI guidelines wherein it is mentioned to charge foreclosure for teaser loans on floating rate of interest and they have responded that they will reply after talking to their superiors.
I agree with you that RBI should step in and direct banks like ING VYSYA to comply with fair practices to customers.RBI aims at stopping discrimination between customers and banks like these fail RBI in its effort to achieve fair treatment to all customers.
Regards,
Tony
