Delay , Harassment, demanding same documents again and again over phone , no official update in two
months, no communication in black and white, seniors never come in picture.
serious security threat to customer due to data pilferage.
One of my close friend ( NRI) who applied for home loan to HDFC main
branch in Bangalore. Despite giving all the required documents, no
official response came in. Fresh demand of papers kept on pouring in
from the coolies who do all the footwork. Every multiple demand for
same papers were met, But at last no reply came , this went on for two
months. This matter was conveyed by my NRI friend to , his
relationship manager Vijay Kurle, Chairman Mr. Aditya Puri, Head
office NRI services, Abhishek Deora ( Regional manger HDFC sales
Bangalore), National Chief of consumer complaints Geetika Vaish, but
no response came , except canned automated replies. This is all after
escalating the case.
We can imagine how these banks play with our money and time, while
they are paid royally with the money generated from our earnings,
savings, investments etc.
HDFC could have been professional enough to atleast give response in
positive or negative, without making him wait for 2 months.
Other disaster observed by my NRI friend with HDFC:
Every single document was handled by peon, clerk , sales man, mgmt
trainee during this process, there is nothing called privacy or
secrecy act in dictionary of HDFC, it could be potential threat to
life of applicant, if secret financial information is leaked to third
party by lower level staff.
There is rarely any time bound reply or professional service. Probably
they are becoming worse than public sector banks.
I am requesting all NRI's to understand and be watchful about few
important things if we deal with banks like HDFC , if you value your
money, time, resources , peace of mind and worried of identity
theft, data stealing and safety of documents along with possible
threat to life or kidnapping.( which is quite possible here if someone
see big amount in your bank statements or salary)
Even myself an NRI who is uncomfortable with total chaos in Banking
sector when it comes to professional and timely service. Besides no
higher authority ever comes to rescue or fixing the situation. I am
not saying only HDFC falls in this category, perhaps it may be true
with most of banks who do not follow proper laws.
