Default ICICI Bank - Increase in tenure of the Loan

    Hi,

I have an Home Loan with ICICI Bank.Initally i had taken the loan for 20 years starting April 4th 2005.I have been a customer of ICICI Bank for over 7 years now. It's not only the housing loan but also i hold a SB account and a credit card.Till date i was a satisfied customer of ICICI bank.

In Feb 2011 i voluntarily increased my EMI from Rs 7009 to Rs 15000.Along with this i also made a part payment of Rs 50,000 towards my loan account. This reduced the remaining tenure of the loan from 168 months to 55 months.

Now , in the month of September 2011 since i have finalised one more property i would like to go ahead and increase the tenure of my loan or decrease the EMI back to Rs 7000.As per ICICI Bank this is not allowed.

When every other bank provides the facility of increasing the tenure of the loan, why is it not possbile with ICICI Bank ?Provided that i had decresed the tenure of the loan approximately 7 months ago.

I think this is ridiculous.I feel cheated and going forward would not like to have any kind of relationaship with ICICI Bank.

I request the forum to register my complaint and help me in this regard.

    Details.

    Loan Account No : LBCOC00000942334
    Bank : ICICI Bank
    Type Of Loan :Home Loan

    Regards,
    Nagaraj

Note : Should you require any further clarifications , do let me know.

The following was the reply i had received from ICICI Bank

    Dear Mr. Uchil,

We refer to your complaint addressed to ICICI Bank regarding your Home Loan Account LBCOC00000942334.

The complaint has been registered vide Service Reference Number SR189361390.

According to our telephonic conversation on September 7, 2011 we understand that you have the following complaint:
Decrease in Equated Monthly Installment towards your home loan account.
We are looking into the complaint and will revert to you on or before September 14, 2011.

    Sincerely,

    Vishnu Kumar
    Office of Head Service Quality

Am been informed that there is no resolution for the above mentioned complaint and ICICI Bank is not ready to change the tenure of the loan as per their policy.

This was informed to me over the telephone and not even by way of a reply via a E-mail.The attitude of the phone banking lead was attrocious and rude to say the least.

All the best to ICICI bank and i have made a decision to close all my relationship with them except for the housing loan which i will in some point of time.

    Regards,
