Double EMI deducted by HDFC Bank

    Thumbs down Double EMI deducted by HDFC Bank

    I have a home loan from HDFC bank(EMI 9976/-). In the month o March , i have recd. a SMS from my bank to submit ECS mandate as my PDC was going to be exhausted, than i visit my branch at Lohia Nagar, Ghaziabad and as per their advise i have submitted ECS form and a PDC for the month of May'11. When EMI was not deducted from my account in the month of April'11,i contacted customer care , they told me that PDC is not available when i asked why they have not informed ,and why they have not collected it when i visited their branch they told me to ask this question to my branch manager. Again i contacted my branch and i was told to visit the branch. Again i have to visit the branch and submit PDC. They simply say sorry .dAt that time also i asked them that now you have my PDC and ECS for the month of May , so pl. use only one they assured me for the same. When bank used my PDC in the month of May, again i contacted customer care so that my ECS can be stopped but again they told me to visit branch. So On 12th of May'11, again i visited the branch and they told me that they are sorry for this mistake and ECS can not be stopped but my amount deducted through PDC will be returned back in 3 days , but after repeated follow up i could not recd. that amount and bank told me that my address is incomplete? Again i argue that all my addresses(Permanent address/Present address/Office address) are same as they were at the time of loan disbursement and even my mobile no. and E mail ID is also same, no satisfactory answer was recd.Whole month had passed in this activity.


    On 6th of June my EMI (Rs 2786/-)was due for home loan insurance again with sister concern of HDFC bank and due to insufficient amount that ECS got bounced and i have to pay penalty.
    Now i am repeatedly asking them when my amount was with them, why i have to pay penalty?That was their mistake and after repeated communication they deducted double EMI and after that even after repeated communication they did not return back amount that was more than thrice of home loan insurance ECS amount.

    But till now no satisfactory answer recd, i just want to know if due to any reason customer makes a mistake, bank immediately penalise hi so that rule should be same for banks also.


    Pl. help me in this regard.
