I am writing this email with an intent of highlighting the show of utter irresponsible nature and approach to work shown by the personnel at the LIC HOUSING FINANCE LTD. branch at JEEVAN PRAKASH BUILDING,7th FLOOR, K.B MARG, NEW DELHI – 110001.
In order to apply for the home loan I had submitted the necessary documents along with the form through an in-house agent named SUDHAKAR (9811125202) on 23/04/2011. The documents were filed and I was asked to sit for a document verification through an officer named SHAILENDRA, who after the due process asked me to submit an additional document. I was asked to meet the Area Manager, MR. ALOK GOYAL, for a personal discussion when the required document was in place.
As the document had to be arranged from my wife’s last company in Bangalore, Karnataka, it took me close to 10 days to get hold of the document. So, on the next Saturday, 07/05/2011, I went to submit the document I was surprised to hear from SHAILENDRA that the file had been misplaced and was missing from his desk. He asked 2-3 people to look for the file which according to him he had seen on his desk 2 days earlier. After spending close to an hour I was asked by SHAILENDRA to leave the document with him so that he will attach it to the file WHEN THE FILE IS FOUND. He also assured me that he will call me on the following Monday, 09/05/2011, to confirm the status of the file and the application.
He did call me on Monday only to clarify his in-ability to locate the missing file. I was also given an excuse that, the person who finds the file is an illiterate and won’t be able to locate the file via the applicant’s name, and asked me for the FILE NUMBER, which was never communicated to me while filing the documents. He disconnected the phone with the statement that they won’t be able to locate the file which does not have any FILE NUMBER.
Really annoyed with the attitude shown by the personnel I visited the branch once again on the following Saturday, 14/05/2011 and spoke directly to Area Manager, MR. ALOK GOYAL. He called in both SHAILENDRA (document verifier) and SUDHAKAR (the in-house agent who helped me with the documentation) and spoke to them about the missing file. MR. GOYAL re-iterated to me that he like other would not be able to help me out without the allotted FILE NUMBER, which was never allotted to me as the documents were not complete and the file had not been uploaded into the application system for processing.
Witnessing the extent of irresponsibility and mismanagement I submitted a written complaint addressing MR. ALOK GOYAL, with an acceptance duly signed by the receptionist, as Mr. ALOK GOYAL straightaway refused to accept the complaint at his level.
There was an assurance though from MR. ALOK GOYAL that… I SHOULD APPLY AGAIN THROUGH A FRESH APPLICATION AND HE WILL MAKE SURE THAT HE OVERSEE THE WHOLE PROCESS HIMSELF. Neither am I out of my mind nor have I got any more leaves left from the office to run after these irresponsible and careless bunch of people.
Now, after all that had happened neither am I going to go ahead with the loan application nor apply for a new application. Who knows LIC Housing Loan folks might as well end up misplacing my file. I have already spent or rather wasted countless number of Saturdays (which by the way are working for me) applying and running after the careless people working for LIC. What I wish to know is the correct medium or a forum where in such actions are taken into account. I don’t want to others to face what I have faced. An incident such as this has solidified my perception of SARKARI companies and their work ethics.
I would really appreciate if you or someone from your office could respond and show me the path forward for raising my voice against the following personnel:
• Mr. Alok Goyal
• Shailendra – The document verifier.
• Sudhakar – In-house agent
• The illiterate file locater – Who could only interpret FILE NUMBERs and not names.
