    Unhappy HDFC Home Loan ineffeciency

    Hi,

    I recently applied for home loan from HDFC bank Noida branch.
    Following are the facts that I made very clear to the sales executive before applying for loan:

    1. I would be moving out of Delhi to Bangalore in 3-4 weeks so I need the processing really fast.
    2. My husband (who is co-applicant) will be changing his job.
    3. The demand letter from the builder was for 21st March


    I clearly asked the person to let me know the paper work process in advance and hassles that may come due to our movement. He said there will be no issue in your loan processing and you will get the loan amount in 15-20 days. On 28th Feb 2011, I submitted all the required papers to him. I continuously tracked the process and got to know that he actually submitted the file in HDFC head office on 17th March 2011. By that time I had already moved to Bangalore (15th March).

    Finally my loan got approved on 26th March. I did everything as per the sales person's instruction, made him available with every paper that was required on time.but till today I have not received my disbursement cheque. I got my loan file transferred to Bangalore branch but only for shocks and surprises. I got to know about all together different disbursement procedure here. They want me to pay all the amount to builder minus loan amount and that too when I opted for Partial Disbursement plan. Now Bangalore branch needs its own time to check the process and consult the Noida branch. I went to Bangalore branch on 9th April and till date I have not heard back from them. Needless to say, they obviously don't revert back to my mails.

    In the midst of all this, I am being charged of hefty penalty from builder's side for late payment. The penalty has accumulated to a lot of amount.

    So all I want to know is

    1. Due to Bank's inefficient sales executive and highly irresponsible staff, is the customer supposed to suffer?
    2. If there is communication gap between 2 branches of a bank, is the customer supposed to suffer?

    I want this penalty to be paid by HDFC bank only for there highly careless attitude as they treat a home application as just another file/case when its a matter of huge money for any middle class family in India.

    When it comes to professionalism and time bound service they are one of sickest bank. Excuses, willful delay,
    and inefficiency makes this bank low in customer satisfaction. If you know some one personally or have
    something to make their employee happy with dinner and booze then you can probably expect fast service.
