I would like to register a complaint against ICICI Home Finance/Home loans , for the reason that they have not returned all my original documents after closure of my home loan.

It has been four years I have paid off and closed my home loan but ICICI is not taking any responsibility to locate and return my documents. If my documents are misplaced and lost by them they are not processing to recreate my documents. I have been left in the middle for four years now, I have been escalating this to various levels within ICICI and no one is taking responsibility to look in to my issue, I was ignored and no proper response has been given so far.

Could some one help me in this issue?

Hi Raja,

I too experience the same issue now. They say they lost the documents in Mumbai flood, but, this cannot be kept a secret. I searched through the internet, but no news regarding this..

You will need to keep records of all what you are doing to resolve the issue, send registered complaints and keep the acknowledgements so that you have proper records when you approach Banking Ombudsman or consumer court.

Forget it. I am working with my home loan branch in Pune for last 5 months and they are clueless where papers are. (Ref : ICICICARE=037-105-895' Others)
2 days ago, I received an interesting call from Branch asking me from where did I collect the list of documents - obviously from bank branch - it has a stamp out there.
ICICI Home finance has changed 4 offices in last 6 years. I do not remember where the office was. Why should I keep a track where the ICICI HFC office was located when I collect the list of document?

I have been talking to Chitra Lekha - who respond to mails sent on ICICIBank Online and Vaishali Darekar, Vidula and vrushali K at Shivajinagar / Ghole Road ICICI HFC branch

No one is having any clue and no one is proactive.

I had taken housing loan for my property from ICICI Home Finance and have approval letter dated 10 Oct 2003 against application no. 7771823423.
I have foreclosed the housing loan on 19 Jan 2010 by paying all outstanding dues to ICICI Bank. I have copy of foreclosure receipt along with the confirmation from bank for loan closure.
Subsequent to the repayment, I was asked to collect the original papers and I did the same on 06th Feb 2010. However, while collecting the papers I realized that some of the original documents are missing and I could recollect the few which, I have put down on the paper.
On advise from bank official (and based on my past experience), I collected the documents which were provided and bank official acknowledged that they would check and confirm the missing document details. I had taken list of documents from ICICI Bank earlier in Jan 2007, which states all the original documents that bank possess against my home loan.
I have Not received the original payment receipts (for payment that I made to builder), listed in list of documents and original site plan. I have received 2 registration receipts; Original Index-II and original articles of agreement and original release deed.
Unfortunately, no one reached out to me and hence I followed up again Feb 09 over email and on Feb 13, by visiting the bank branch producing the list of documents provided by ICICI bank to me on 16 January 2007.
In spite of numerous follow ups and emails [via GMail as well as ICICI Online bank portal], I failed to receive any ‘PROACTIVE’ response from ICICI bank officials about my missing documents or tentative time-line when I would get them.
I got to know from ICICI Bank person, on 17 March 2010, that my documents have arrived at bank branch and I can collect them. When visited bank branch on 20 March 2010, we (me along with bank officials) found that the envelope contains only wrong site plan Xerox copy (and not the original blue print), which was belonging to some property in Nagpur.
Again, as a ritual Bank branch officials, at Ramchandra Sabha Mandap, Ghole Road, Pune, took a scanned copy and a xerox copy of the list of documents issued by ICICI bank earlier and assured me that someone would reach out to me when they find something. – No one has reached out to me from Branch till date.
I have been persistently following up since then over ICICI Bank Online emails. You would notice that it is always in request (from me) and then response from ICICI Bank official, always with standard answer as (a) We are in process of finding the documents OR (b) could you please send the scanned copy of list of documents.
I have also sent mail to the customer grievance cell of ICICI bank and their escalation channel but no help from them either.
After 4 months, I also submitted the letter to bank, along with all correspondence and the copy of my loan papers, closure letter, list of documents, on 25 May, asking them for next steps (copy of acknowledgment of that letter is also available with me). I asked the bank official if I need to do something and whether there is any possibility of retrieving documents?
The concern bank official asked me to do whatever is appropriate and hence I lodged the complaint on RBI website but they asked to resolve it with bank.
I am not sure what else I need to do and what could be right step?

Beware of ICICI Bank!!!!!!!!! useless people without any feelings. They don't care abt the customers and they are only conernced with tragets.

Being a reputed company like ICICI, they don't take any responsibility of the documents to be returned to the customer after proper closure of the Home loan. They will make sure that, they collect entire amount without fail.

In My case, I closed the loan by paying the entire outstanding amount. They returned original documents but one of the important document is not being found. At the time of collecting the documents they prepared the check list, which contains all the original documents collected from me. At the time of loan closing, the check list they prepared missed one of the document which they collected while sanctioning the loan. That is first mistake. Even 5 year old kid knows that check list must match. When we alerted that clerk, that the document is not listed, she says well I only makesure that you get documents as per checklist and she completely argues that she is not responsible. Why they dont take responsibilty??? ICICI is a ocean, whom we need to contact if the person handing over does not take responsibility???. She asked us to lodge a complaint to call center. Now the call center guys dont have any clue apart from running some stupid software and giving the complaint number.

My questions are:

1. Why dont u put all the original documents received from the customer in one file?????
2. Why do they send the documents to either Mumbai or Chennai, where as the loan got sanctioned in Bengaluru.
3. Why the loan officer who initially sanctioned the loan is not in the loop, during the closure of the loan.
4. Why dont the clerk who is handling the documents does not take responsibility?.
5. Why dont u store the papers in the place where the loan is granted?
6. Why do we need to call the call center and lodge a complaint, insted the clerk who is handing over the documents need to take care of handling this complaint.
7. If they dont find the original document, then what?????
8. ICICI bank should take the responsibility in returning the documents...if not, they should be charged hefty amount and give that to customer.
9. If the consumer at fault, they take all the measures to make sure they get there money back....why cant they take a measure in returning the documents.
10. We the customer should get a proper treatment and proper support.
11. Most of the ICICI bank branches have youngsters, who dont even have any knowledge of handling the customer, does not even know the background of banking, does not even care to respect the people, they dont even have a proper language to talk?. All they know is saying "NO" for any questions they asked.

If any ICICI bank personal looking at this complaint, please do have some responsibility in handling my case and give me proper answer.

I have recently closed my Home Loan account by paying the amount, I received all other documents (Dated 11-11-2011) which i have submitted along with Original Sale Deed, but i have not received Original Sale Deed, which is very much Important document.

I do not understand how the Original Sale Deed is missed out of all other supporting documents, Please help me to get the document as this is very much important to have.

Hi,

I have preclosed my Home Loan account from ICICI Bank, I received the documents on 11-11-2011, but the Original Document was missing, all other documents which i have submitted along with Original Sale Deed was present, I do not understand on how this will happen with reputed ICICI Bank.

I have raised the complaint, still i have not received any call from the bank.

Please help me to get the document as this is very much important to have.
