This is more of a warning to other users than a complaint. I did not go ahead with the complaint in the interest of time. I ordered 2 cheap beds from the store. While placing the order for delivery to my house, the store owner mentioned that he did not have the 2 beds with him at the store and would deliver 2 good quality beds at the house (I explicitly asked him to ensure the quality since he was not showing the good). But when it came to delivery, he delivered the 2 worst pieces from his showroom with cracked ply, and dirty markings on the top. On complaining, he mentioned that he does not have an exchange policy. On bickering with him quite a lot, he agreed to exchange but charged me an additional shipping charge.
This seems to be a standard practice at the store. Give the customer a bad product at delivery to his house. If he does not complain, great. If he complains, then evade the issue for a couple of weeks, waste the customer's time as much as one can. Then exchange the product with return shipping charged to the customer. Modus Operandi of the store is: Stick the customer with a damaged good, and try to go with it once he has paid the money. If not, no damage done, fleece the customer some more on the shipping.
The entire frustrating thing with this issue is that one has to comply with the fraudulent practice of the shopkeeper even though one knows he's being had since going to the courts is a loss of all the more time.
